I've got to make the final payment for our holiday/sister in laws wedding to Kos at the end of March. Due to cash flow problems and work etc I am going to be just under £500 short, got to pay a grand in total.

I have rung them to tell them but only managed to speak to a woman who couldn't understand me and I defintely couldn't understand her. So, I have emailed them today to ask if it would be a problem if I paid half at the end of this month and the rest at the end of April.

I am still to receive a reply but just wondered if any folk on here had any experience of this? The holiday is booked direct through a major tour operator.

Seems unlikely that they will accept payment after the holiday.

They're hardly going to let you go on the holiday when you still owe them half the cost of it mate. Best bet is to put the payment on a 0% purchases credit card or an overdraft. Otherwise you may lose the holiday and all the money you've paid so far.

If it's that important you're going to have to borrow the money from somewhere and even then if things are that bad there'll be spending money and all that jazz to consider.

I think I could have worded this better or it has been read wrong. I'm not stupid enough to expect a holiday on tick!

Payment is due by end of march. Holiday not until end of June.

It is quite important as her indoors didn't see her sister get married first time around as we couldn't afford to go all the way to Vegas! Her first husband was killed in a bike accident not long after.

Not expecting a freebie just want to pay balance due a month late. Don't have a credit card and don't want one. That's another story.

is it just me that thinks if people want to get married somewhere exotic then they should be paying for guests to go there, or at least help with the cost?

My sister got married abroad and a load of people went, I couldnt afford it................oh wait, she didnt actually invite me Laughing Laughing

if anything this is one of the things a credit card is good for, gives you the extra time you need, and also acts as a guarantee should the tour operator go pop, and it covers all of the cost not just the bit you pay on it,

plus using a credit card abroad is much safer than your personal account card, and far easier to pay off and close down if there are any problems.

credit cards arnt evil, just people get the idea its "free" money Rolling Eyes
