Any tips for riding in these conditions?
I ride on pretty good roads, most of them are repaired as soon as they get damaged. As they are pretty much the only way to get into Bridgnorth from the Dudley end of things.
But, with winter rusing in (yeah, damnit, did i notice this morning!) have you guys got any tips for riding on ice, through snow and fog?
The usual "Slow right down!" is an always helpful tip!
Thanks in advance,

Avoid sharp quick movements, turn smoothly through the bend.
And erm, dont hit a powerband going round a bend. ____________________ 94 fzr600r |

"Avoid sharp quick movements" Would that include avoiding the nova/volvo that just pulled out on you? ____________________ Past: GZ 125 K4 Marauder, VL 125 LC Intruder, FZS 600 Fazer. Present: GSF 600 N K3 Bandit, GSX-R 600 X(soon)

Yeah, Ive already got into the habit of riding in the wheel ruts. The potatoe farmers are having a ball of a time with thier tractors/combine's at the moment.
Also, I know that you're supposed to stear into a skid, and DONT brake. But what kinda sensation does it give the old butt? ____________________ Past: GZ 125 K4 Marauder, VL 125 LC Intruder, FZS 600 Fazer. Present: GSF 600 N K3 Bandit, GSX-R 600 X(soon)

true, if you do find your back end starting to slide out the best thing to do is to slowly let off the throttle and draw in the clutch, otherwise the back wheel will continue to spin, with the clutch in, your wheel is free to grip at its own will, if you were going at a fast speed and the back started to come out the worst thing to do is shut off, cos the back would grip and throw you miles into the air hehe, but i doubt ull get that speed in snow

On the way home from work yesterday (about 30 miles on the M1), in very heavy snow, I passed an Aprilia Pegaso riding on the hard shoulder, with his indicator on. While this is totally illegal, and there are potential hazards, he was safer there than anywhere else............feck the law, take your best chance. ____________________ I was only doing what it said on my licence officer....

My advice for fog is to ride very slowly indeed and at night don't bother putting full beam on, the light just bounces back in your eyes, I prefer to be able to see the road surface than a haziness. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it.
