I think I am, not in the terms of not getting on it, I do as often as I can.

I worry that the front end will slap when I open it up (it does, a lot) or the back will let go.

Then I watch stunters and they slide the backs out, wheelies, stoppies.

How do you all get so comfortable with your bikes?

Check the steering head bearings and check the back tyre for wear!

Practice, you learn how to control the bike and how far you can go before you fuck up.

Stunters don't just hop on extremely customised bikes and do it all perfectly, they've spent hundreds/thousands of hours practicising, falling off, and trying again.

It has power enough that I have to "measure" the amount I use along roads I'm used to just ripping down. On my GPZ 500 I could just crack open the throttle and it wouldn't get too hairy.

So I guess I am wary of the power, rather than scared of it.

I have been before, when trying to find the limits of how much throttle I can give when clutching it up on a new bike.. Like the Bandit 400.. where loads wasn't enough and enough was too much Laughing

Find a tyre that you're most comfortable with.

I had a Bridgestone Battlax and it didn't give me any confidence. I daren't lean at all. Wet riding was just scary. Then somebody down at the Ace recommended me the Michelins that I now use and now I feel like I can throw it into anything and i'll be fine.

Am I scared of my bike? No! , I understand how any bike can bite you on the arse if you do stupid things, but i`m not scared of it.

I`m more scared of my own stupidity and how in a rash moment I will end up being scrambled Smile

What sort of revs in first gear on the B4??

I've tried quite a lot but I just cant seem to get it up... The front wheel that is.

Get yourself an MOT failure for the price of a few beers and ride it off-road. My dad bought me an old Honda C90 when I was 9 or 10, no lights, no brakes, no exhaust and bald road tyres, but I soon learned how to control it riding on wet grassy fields, or muddy slag heaps at the local pit. Your reactions will become instinctive, and it won't hurt you or the bike when you come off developing those reactions.

2nd gear, 7k, slip clutch to 11k and tug the bars up leaning back.

1st gear, roll along, get it to about 1/2 revs, clutch in to 3/4 and tug bars whilst dumping clutch.

Good little bike for em!

Awesome Thumbs Up I'll have another go, when there's some dry roads! I think it's the bar-tugging that I haven't been doing. I was semi-hoping I wouldn't have to.

I wont be able to do second gear... One of the dogs on the gear has rounded off so on about 1/4 throttle acceleration it just keeps jumping round to the next dog so I tend to skip second Laughing

You can power the B4 up... cruise in 1st to about 15mph, shut the throttle and put weight on front end.

Lean back and snap it open.

I am beginning to think my rear suspension is too firm now i've upped the pre-load by a notch. Really should get it set up by someone that has a clue.
