Well... Laughing

I bought another bike from a breaker, light damage, nothing bad at all. Nice n cheap.

I have an issue, it has no tax. Or V5.

However, DVLA site states this ...
DVLA monkeys wrote:
This vehicle can be licensed at a DVLA Local Office without the V5C Registration Certificate

So basically I can go to my local shit hole office with the insurance cert and get tax? It has no MOT cert as its <3 years old (11 plate)

Seem legit?

I believe you'll find you can only do that if it's registered to you.

So, you need to apply for a V5 in your name and I don't think LVLAs let you do that and tax it at the same time anymore (although I might be wrong).

No.
Although if you mean your local DVLA office then yes.

Did that with an old CG125.
Applied for new V5 at the desk and they also took the money for the tax at the same time. Not sure what other paperwork we took though (wife's bike). Think it was at least the MOT and insurance.

The missus may have had her driving licence. Cannot remember if she took her passport also as id.

Don't talk to me about passports Laughing

I'll get insurance certificate and driving licence and see if I can sort some tax.

No issue with waiting for a V5, but I'm now going to have to be experimental with getting the bike home.

I suspect you may need the VIN number as well as the reg. No harm in making a note of it, and the engine No. whilst you're at it.

No.

It's a motorcycle, they don't require a VIC.

Not worth going today (Wed. 20 March) as they're on strike.

The issue in cars is that someone will steal a new car and use a damaged car's details.
On bikes it's a hell of a lot easier to just swap the stuff on to the old bike's frame than it is with a car.
Further, generally I'd say they're 'easier' to repair anyway.

Thought I'd put a small bid in, no issue for me... I'll either run it to the ground or get the minor damaged fixed and sell it.

I'm just having a look at it tbh...

I'll ride it, see what its like. I doubt it will be of YBR quality... but I doubt its some real cheap low budget shed either.

I'll get it all pretty with a bow and sell to a new 17 year old pass victim.
