I have a nitro car which takes 10% nitro fuel my friend came round on his Speedfight 2 and we put a bit of nitro fuel in the tank as a laugh (his idea). Well it really made it go a lot faster we only put a couple of drops in because we didn't know what would happen.

As we live by a disused airfield where I race my nitro car he's thinking of buying some nitro fuel to put it in his Speedfight and use it down there along the runway.

What'll happen if he does will it break it or something?
I dont think he should risk it really but at the end of the day it's not upto me.
Because it was doing some serious speed and I kinda felt sorry for that little 50cc engine sweating it's arse off.

This is a joke right?

If it's not a joke, then it will work really well, go try it and make sure you have a camera to take photos in case it blows up or anything else cool. Mr. Green

This is seriously not a wind up, I only have a video camera so quality will be bad unless my friend has a camera, If he does we'll use that.
I think he's going to use 5% nitro fuel and mix it with unleaded.

Yeah and I put a bag of sugar in my tank and now my CG revs to 30,000rpm and does 100mph.

nitro fuel is a mixture of nitro methane and vegetable oils, two drops would do nothing and a full tank would gunge up the whole carb and engine.

a nitro engine is a cross breed of kinda a two stroke diesel engine with glow ignition

We did this with a mates old DT 50 MX, put a fair amount of the stuff in with loads of redex octane booster (dunno why, we figured it was less likely to go bang at the time). He said it went a bit quicker, and wanted to put lots more of the stuff in, but I told him it probably wasn't a good idea. Was fun ragging round waiting for it to explode though (which it didn't!). Twisted Evil

ok ok, so i have like lots of nitro fuel in my garage and no r/c to put it in, but im just assuming (me been the dumb ass that i am) that putting nitro fuel in a 2 or 4 stroke bike just isnt going to work (from all the sarcy comments!)

i have heard tried and tested pro boost and that does add a smidge of top end and acceleration here and there on the 50's

i did what you said and put the sugar in with the petrol, after a while was working really good but now it dont start, do i just need to put more petrol in, it doesn't even turn the engine over now Rolling Eyes what do you think it might be, did yours do the same ?

Oddly enough, I think RC Car nitro fuel is actually about 70-80% methanol, and if I remember correctly they run some cars in south america on a mixture of gasoline and ethanol (called gasohol), I'm not sure whether you'd need some engine mods to allow for this though.

I would of thought you'd also run the risk of auto-ignition/knocking with methanol in the tank!
