I did...this week, Thursday, my test day..
and yes, it was my fault.
I was turning into the drive of work...the road was very wet...there was a drain...
I was going about 5mph too fast...I headed for the said drain cover...
the bike went one way...me the other...
on the day I wanted to sell it.
Damn and poop ____________________ Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow"

Well, I almost went into the back of a friends car while riding 'round last night. My front brakes are out and the roads were sludge from it just starting to rain after being dry for a couple weeks. He had to make an emergency-ish stop when someone pulled out in front of him at 40mph and I managed to lock the back tire up slightly and coasted to within six inches or so of his bumper. Good fun. Luckily, I've practiced the rear tire slide in the wet quite often, so I didn't go into or over anything. ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/californiarookie/04gsxr600/

Van pulled out on me in april, i was going round a roundabout, heading for my turn off, and he pulled out, i swerved, missed him, hit the kerb and slid down it, rain didnt help either, i looked around and he had drove off, bastard.
Damage to the bike was scratched front wheel, clocks smashed to bits, generator cover scratched and broken footpeg and little scuff on seat cowl, i borrowed some pegs off a mate and had the clocks repaired by a guy from pyramid plastics for £50, so wasnt that expensive, oh yea and mudguards got a nice deep scratch/scuff on it. i was going to buy new generator cover, and get seat cowl and mudguard fillered and resprayed and dent taken out of tank, but i bought a Leovince can , then i had to buy new engine etc. So havent bothered doing it yet, might do it when i sell the hornet which wont be for a while now ive got a ban (cos of insurance), oh well, roll on boxing day. ____________________ is that it |

\o.
Twice in the last 12 months.
Both my fault I suppose, but no other people/vehicles involved.
First was while on my 50cc, gave it too much acceleration, cornering in the wet and just lost the back end. No damage to the bike and little to me.
Second was about 3 month ago. Having a fun run in the summer round some country back roads. Went that little bit too fast and couldnt shake the speed off coming up to a sharp 90ish degree turn. Just bailed as I knew I wasnt going to make the corner. Some damage to the bike (few bent bits) and quite a bit of damage to myself. Took quite a while for my shoulder to get back to normal, still gets stiff now.
Happens to everyone at some stage of their riding career, just have to get back up and keep riding. ____________________ Aprilia RSV Mille R Edwards Replica - Aprilia RS250 - Suzuki GSXR600 Supersport Race Bike |

I had an accident in June, First proper one since I started riding almost 5 years and 40,000miles ago.
Never had any problems in the winter, I know the limits and keep well below them and I've not been unlucky enough to find any diesel either. ____________________ My bikes are at https://www.bikepics.com/members/dynamight/ |

Lowsided on a very greasy Silverstone trackday last month.
Lots of other people crashed too, so I'd like to think it wasn't my fault, but then the bike wouldn't have crashed by itself, would it? |

About a fortnight after I'd started riding after my first crash, I came to fast onto a filthy wet roundabout whilst completely lost. I'd got half way round before a car stopped in front of me. Foolishly I dabbed on the front brake whilst leant over... Woosh... Only the footpeg ground a bit and the mirror and lever with a few scrapes. Cost £0.
About a month after that, I had to turn into a right minor road further across a junction than usual as a car was pulled up to the line waiting to turn right. I got caught out on the gravel from where the opposite lane had turned into the minor road. I was doing about 15mph and was barely leant over, just the back went out when I really wasn't expecting it. Ground the footpeg a bit more, jammed the brake pedal, scratched the mirror and brake lever a bit more. Cost -£1.00. I got a free pot of tea from the pub I crashed outside of.
The most amusing thing that ride was 200 yards up the road after the first off. I'd checked over the whole bike except for the back brake. It was jammed against the frame so wouldn't come on. I rode up the road a little before I realised the brake pedal wasn't working. Whilst stamping on the pedal to dislodge it, I was pulling into the left hand side (with indicator of course) so that I could sort it out. Foolishly I didn't notice the height of the verge, into which my left footpeg dug, flipping me neatly off the left into the verge at the mighty speed of about 5 mph. I just sat there looking foolish and trying not to laugh at myself for a minute, shouted that I was fine to a passing car, before riding ever so slowly home. Cost £0.00
Total cost of minor accidents: -£1.00. I like my bike. Even the major crash only cost me the price of a helmet. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Oooooh, I know the feeling!
Me and my dad got rear ended, while turning into the garage showroom to sell his old car.
Ive had quite a few near misses on my bike, mainly due to cagers, but also nearly had a spill while swerving to avoid a slippery-looking drain cover (ironic ) |

Apart from several stationary drops the only moving off I've had was just after I'd passed my test, pootling along at about 10mph in a residential street with cars on both sides so only room for a single lane of traffic. It was raining and as I came around a corner I saw a car coming the other way.
I braked too sharply, skidded, caught the skid but then highsided at just above 0mph. Broke an indicator on the bike and got a tiny cut on my thumb. I didn't realise about the cut until I got home and took my glove off, to find my hand absolutely covered in blood which was a bit scary. But the cut itself turned out to be no more than 3 or 4 millemetres long. ____________________ "It's all about dislocating expectation"

3 times in the past 6 months.
First time - My fault, going too fast down country roads, didn't slow down enough for a corner and ditched it. Fair bit of damage, I had a messed up knee for a month.
Second time - I guess it was my fault, a bolt came loose holding the rear sprocket on the wheel, bolt jammed agsint the swingarm and locked the wheel while going round a roundabout, lowsided, nearly went under a bus. Should of checked my bike over before going out.
Third time - Not my fault, Mercedes swung around on a mini roundabout, without indicating, then drove off. Bike was ok, I was fine, apart from a pair of ruined jeans ____________________ RooRoo: just like the time i stuck my finger up my arse with no lube at all and she didnt talk to me for hours |
