Check for a bad paint job hiding crash damage? Race paint jobs are a good sign that the bike may have been given a hard time by a racer wannabe?

The headlight mountings break off and the metal support they bolt onto also break often.

Rear suspension is meant to be dodgy on most (here say)

I've not had any issues with mine other than a cam chain tensioner making it sound like a diesel and a lack of giving a shit by previous owners.

Given that Mattspratt never killed his despite various comedy crashes and drops, I'd say they are impressively tough. As mentioned, that headlight bracket does seem to be the weak link as far as the fairings go though.

Dunno y you guys don't like the paint scheme, it's different, and I haven't seen another one like it.
Plus I was thinking that they made some in these colours, is it something people do ? ? ?

Aslong as it's under £1000, wouldn't pay anymore than that personally.

There is a very, very good reason for that.! Shocked Shocked Wink

Are you female because IMHO that colour scheme is only one step away from it being 'shocking pink' Laughing

Well no, imo. Aslong as he can prove the mileage (which seems suspiciously low) and the engine is in good condition, along with other usuals (bearings, c+s, tyres etc), then it may be a good buy. You can always paint the fairings if they bother you that much. Cosmetics never bother me, it's whats underneath.

I really wouldn't pay £1100 for that though.

The 1998 bandit I just sold only had 19500 miles on it, it sold for 1200, so if it is a bad one, I haven't lost much

I wouldn't compare your bikes value to his. I would suggest offering him £850. What's the worst he will say? Then mumble and moan and progressively offer higher Laughing .

Is that a hump or is it a race fairing tail piece? Race fairing screams of cheap repair or track day hooligan.

I'd step the budget up £2-300 and buy a seriously clean SRAD, but that's just me.

Don't forget to also dribble from your nose and mouth to complete the look, but I hold out little hope for anyone that calls a GSXR a "Gixxer"

And that bike looks like dog shit Thumbs Up

Isn't that the shape with the cowl/hump? They come with the pillion seat, but that unit looks like one complete piece, right?
