BMW Scarver F650CS
and I like it...a lot!

I saw it as I was out for a run ( Shocked ) and liked it strait away when I ran past a dealer's window.

Gonna go take a test drive me thinks...though I of course have no intention of buying one yet - it's a bit too pricey for me at the mo and I've currently got two bikes that fulfill all my needs...well, all my day to day biking needs anyway!

Anyone got one? It's meant to be a commuter but looks like it'll be good fun on the country lanes and okay on the motorway with it's small fairing.
Seems to have a weird bag attached to the "fuel tank" and are those grab handles on the tank too..?

The black colour options looks much better than this pic below by the way!

That was recommended in TWO as a decent first big bike - the looks tend to be a bit love 'em/hate 'em, but I think it looks damn nice Thumbs Up .

Wouldn't mind one, if I was teutonically inclined Cool .

I personally like the older ST version a lot more. The tank isn't that big plastic thing up front with the hole in obviously, but is under the seat. As for the F650 general class, they're pretty good. Dead dead comfortable, heated grips as standard, (ST arranges the fairings so the air passing over the engine is directed towards the rider to keep them warm too). They are quite tall, quite expensive(!) and quite heavy for their power.

F650 Thumbs Up though. Oh, and BMW fitted luggage is really sumptuous stuff, very well engineered.

Here is an excellent review of the F650 Strada. https://www.thumperpage.com/articles/Strada.html

(ST by the way; I am biased in that my Mum's got one. Smile)

Edit: The high factory screen really does work well; these aren't really commuter bikes but mile chewing all-rounders. BMW=quality.

Well there's no way I'll be wasting money on one...but when the pipe and slippers mentality fully kicks in and there's more money floating around I think I'll be getting a bmw. They do seem like nicely crafted bikes and have unique styling. I also like the fact that they're all pretty much shaft drive.

I've contacted the dealer via their web page so hopefully I'll be test driving one soon. Thumbs Up

Took one of these out as a courtesy bike a while back. Nicknamed the Scarver, not bad power for a single, seat height is for the short of leg (then again I am used to a R1150GS Skyscraper) the one I rode had a stereo in the place where a conventional tank goes Very Happy .

The Stereo plus other extras for the Scarver.

The drive train on it was silky smooth due to it being belt driven.

Personally I prefer the F650 Dakar.

Reckon I should buy it then Andy? Laughing Laughing Laughing

When I went NEC I noticed a lot of the BMW's looked a lot different to the conventional motorbike, which is a good thing. I don't know if I like the look of that though. Confused
