Hey guys,
My first post here! Im on the aprilia forum (AF1).
Just abit of background, im very interestested in bikes, been brought up with bikes (dads got a collection on british bikes and Italian bikes).
So here is my first bike, an aprilia rs50! Its got a airsal ported top end, arrow exhaust and 16mm dellorto that i have just re jetted to suite the ported to end. Power comes in at 8.5k and is strong at 10k and ends at 12k. So pretty peaky!

Here are a few photo's! Hopefully no one will mock me and my little 50 too much! I am only 16!

Nice, I'd quite like a go on a tweaked RS50 just to see how it compared to my old restricted TS50, I'm sure it would feel glacial compared to anything I've ridden recently but still a bag of fun I bet.

Beats my TS, I think the very top of 4th may have just touched 30mph, speedy speedy. Bet the RS actually does corners though!

It goes suprisingly well! It will do a genuine 60mph in the right conditions and an indicated 65mph. Im looking forward to fitting a ported big bore kit and a larger carb (dellorto 24mm)...should make it go abit better! Im in love with this bike, parts are so cheap, very cheap to run and huge fun!

c_dug my friend has a TS50, very old skool!

Thanks for the comments.

looks like a nice place to start but be sensible with it, get tugged for driving otherwise than in accordance and you'll have a hard time insuring anything else for quite awhile

The bike looks nice Thumbs Up

To be honest I've never ridden a bike with engine smaller than 125cc. So I can't imagine how 50cc go.. but I'm surprised they have gears.. I thought it was more like a moped lol

50cc in general will be like a moped. HOWEVER add gears and some heavy porting they can scream all the way to 60mph++! I chose to go for this bike as it uses the legendary am6 engine. These engines are known for their tuneabilty.

This bike has been brilliant fun! Buy one, you will not believe how fun a highly tuned 50cc 2 stroke is untill you ride one!

I have an AM6 engine in the garage if you ever need to find one. Took it out of a 4 yr old pug XP 50 sm that was crashed beyond financial repair. New crank less than a month before.

Proper little race engine them..o ring head etc and a doddle to work on......wish the 2 strokes of my day were as well built!

Don't throw too much money at it cause you won't get it back in resale value and the second you turn 17 you'll be wanting to buy something bigger!

Good point, however I will be keeping this bike as my father and I have invested in 2 am6 powered race rep's to have legal fun with!
These engines can easily kick out 15bhp with a ported 70cc kit, which is more than a 4 stroke 125 in most cases. I hope to experiment with some long stroke kits which should enable me to get 86cc that produces in excess of 25bhp. These race top ends for the am6 engine are dirt cheap and I am leaning heaps! Cannot put a price on education when it comes to 2 strokes.lol

I have a job lined up in September so if everything goes to plan I should have a highly tuned 2 stroke race rep (Aprilia rs50) and a classic 125....something like a suzuki stinger, Suzuki gt125 or if money is low then an RXS100 would be nice.

So yeah...that is my plan guys!

gt125 twin ?

i'd like something like an rd125 twin/ lc , probably would have been cheaper to run them than the cg i had.

Yes, the gt125 is a twin, they sound lovely!
The RD125's are so expensive, would need £2k atleast to get one in need of tinkering.
I see you have some nice small capacity 2 strokes, the x5 is a 200cc version of the x7, no?
What did you find the RXS like? I would like one as can pick them up under a grand and would look nice with a chrome expansionchamber and modern tyres etc.

yes x5 is the x7's smaller slimmer brother

Rxs was fun for a while and then got boring, 200 is slightly better ,but 350 would be ideal i think, rxs will do the job though, mine never broke down

350 stroker would be lovely, but dont forget i will be on a cbt/A1 licence for a while. What top speed could you get out of your rxs? I like the classic look they have, even though they're not that old really. I bet they would look ace with a polished spanny and a wider rear tyre! I hate the indicators they have though...very 80's!
