Those bars have got to be aftermarket, surely?

Tried sticking some petrol in it and giving it a good old kick? I know my RXS doesn't need a battery to run.

nah they're original bars I think, and I'm not really sure if it needs a battery to start or not, I've pulled the plugs out and there's no spark.

Ah, damn. Maybe that's why it was sat then. I know absolutely nothing about points so can't help there, but I bet that's where the problem is. Sad

My rd125 dx needed the battery to run .....much preferred the lc Cdi system which didn't!

I'm guessing the rs200 is the slightly less sporty version of the rd200 with its single carb etc? Same as Suzuki had the X5 and the sb200 versions. This should be a good little commuter when done!

Used to have one of these (as a project bike with my dad when I was about 11). The electric start is the weirdest sounding thing ever, dosent even sound like a motor! Looking forward to this thread!

I love that bike. The bars are...kind of high.

It should have an electric start as ours was identical. Regardless, it was useless at getting the thing going plus the coolest thing about a bike with a kickstart is the kickstart. Everyone knows that right.....

What ever you do don't get breaking the points cover, they are impossible to get hold of. We spent about 6 years trying to find one and
couldn't. Sound great when they are going though and quite fast for what they are, pants brakes though. If you ever get rid, let me know..
