.
Thought some of you guys may like a nosey at a bit of Brit history.

Went to my mates today to balance my carbs. He had just fixed a small oil leak on his beloved Norton.

So for those that are interested here is a clip of it :-

Sounds a bit rough. What is that, some Chinese import?

Actually, even the modern ones might be considered "classics" by the time they actually get delivered.

Very nice, not often you see one now as a lot went to the USA.

Gorgeous! A mate had one in silver, same year.

He let me ride it, I was expecting some sort of religious experience after him singing its praises. It was very different, I was used to Jap trail bikes, this was the 1980's and even then it felt agricultural. I so wanted to be blown away by it Sad Perhaps it was a nail, certainly looked as good as your mates.

Have you ridden it?

Nope. TBH I would not want to. I would not enjoy it thinking in case I dropped it.! (some parts would be near if not impossible to find)

He also has a 'mint' 400/4 and is in the process of a total rebuild of a 1980's Yamaha XJ650 turbo.

The only bike of his I would willingly ride (if he let me Wink ) is his ZZR1400. Not because of its performance but for the fact that if anything happened the parts for it are available.

I had the misfortune to buy one of those things new, a 750 Interstate Combat engine.........it cured me for wanting brit bikes. The Japs didn't 'steal' the bike industry, our manufacturers threw it at them !.
