In mid June i've got a journey to make up to Durham and back on my bike, it's going to be a fair trek for the little 125cc but im happy to do it over a couple of days if need be.

Can anyone tell me what things there are to see and where the best roads are, im not doing motorways. At the moment im planning to go up the peak district and then up and across the Yorkshire dales simply for the scenery and roads.
Im more into the Views and natural attractions than the man made ones, but generally stuff you can ride past and appreciate and maybe pull over and take a photo of. Things like the ribblehead viaduct are certainly on the list!

Thanks, James

+1 Wynatts pass on the way to Derwent Valley , do it mid week so you can get all the way to the end of the dams. Lovely ride.

After you do the Snake turn right at the traffic lights in Glossop out onto the Woodhead road, first left over Holmemoss sign posted for holme firth, down through Holmefirth will start you on the road into yorkshire. Warning if you stop to admire the view beside the mast some alarms get defeted by the radio waves and you have to coast your bike down the hill to the first bend then it will be in the shadow of the gill and the bike will start up again ...

Chatsworth House estate has a public road running right through it well worth the excursion .

You could consider a more eastern route over the Humber Bridge and up the coast Bridlington Scarborough Whitby.
No Toll for bikes now on the bridge and it is quite something to see close up.

I used to ride manchester - sunderland on a 125 monthly.

Some absolutely fantastic views going up via the hills, just do a google route plan avoiding motoways and you'll see something interesting or at least nice scenery along the way
