Yep, it's the 'What did you do to your bike today' thread!

I looked at mine, considered going to work on it then looked at the car which was caked in ice and thought better of it.

Hoping my new cheap chinese levers turn up soonish.

.
On Sunday I balanced the carbs.

Only one was slightly out but bike is a lot smoother and less 'snatchy' at the lower rev range. - So well worth doing. Smile

Parked up on sunday on some grass, took my eyes off the bike for 2 seconds to find some bit of rubbish to put under the stand . . .

Listened to the expensive crunch as it hit the ground. Evil or Very Mad

How is it everything is frozen fkn solid atm, except the 3sq" od mud my stand sunk into. Sad

Ouch - at least it didn't fall on concrete, not that it's much solace I know.

Anyway, here's what I did: cleaned the insides of comstars. Fiendishly tedious. Not quite sure why I bothered really. Apart from it was making a funny chirruping noise at 7k rpm in third every now and again during my saturday jaunt to scunthorpe. Like a small wildfowl was trapped in the crank case. CCT, maybe? Regardless - I was feeling a bit protective of it this morning so thought I'd have a go at the backs of the mag spokey things (the fronts I keep really clean).

I cleaned by brake discs, and lubed my chain up. Then I washed it, which, admittedly, is a little backwards, but I didn't initially set out to wash it, I just got carried away. Then I went out and rode it, and then it was all dirty again Crying or Very sad

Does it count if I did this yesterday?!

VanVan: oil/filter change and spark plug/brake pad replacement. Finished cleaning up the caliper and and ordered new braided hose.

o/h's Marauder: oil/filter change and new pads.

Proper grubby day Thumbs Up

Took 'em both out for a long spin afterwards - nothing leaking and I arrived not dead so calling it a win. Loving that the weather has turned a bit drier so can get out and have a tinker Very Happy

Today I did do on the Superdream : loosen all the nuts on the front caliper, ready for overhaul and a change of hose & pads.
Yesterday I did Plus-gas all the said nuts on the Superdream!

God praise Plus-gas Smile

Cleaned it, applied ACF50, checked and adjusted chain, lubed chain, checked fluids.

First chance I’ve had since I bought it, already done nearly 900 miles, which is most of last year’s milage according to the MOTs.
