Dunno what they're worth now (probably quite a lot in mint condition) but I think mine was £600, brand new in 1981.
When the other thread was started, I could've just about remembered exactly what you needed to do to get the best out of one, but now it's a bit hazy.
What I can say is, it was one of the most restricted 50s of it's time, as the other thread points out; wrong carb, wrong gearing, wrong exhaust, wrong porting.
Forget the red line, that was theoretical in standard tune, the only way you would ever get near it, was free revving in neutral. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........
