right contacted DVLA ....the've told me i need:

1. MOT from VIN
2. Insurance from VIN
3.Certificate from manufacture to prove when the bike was first made as it is not new and has being used

the bike was purchased from ghost bikes..i rang them and they told me they stopped selling the bikes 7 years ago and have no contact with the manufacture...after repeatedly saying i just need their name so i can contact them they told me they do not know it they only know they bikes was made in china and the old manager has left so they do not know where he purchased the bikes.....where do i go from here?

The dvla told me i can apply with the V55 form (which they have sent me ) and then pay for an inspection which can cost a few hundred pounds however i do not wish to pay a few hundred pounds for an inspection for it to fail! any advice ?

Anywhere that's not on the road, by the sound of things.

Best bet is to find a road legal pit bike and base it on that one way or another, I'd say.

If there's nothing special about yours, consider selling and buying new - if there is, consider swapping frame.

You could of course look in to swapping frame numbers or using the other plate on your bike, but that's naughty and could get you in to an awful lot of trouble.

I know of a logbook for a 58 plate pit bike that was registered stolen but can be found at a price.

Likelihood of it passing an SVA is minimal, better off trying to get a road legal one.

^ ^ As above, reframe it. Pitbikeclub usually have a few frames and V5's going.
