Went out to get bike m.o.t'd this morning, 2 mile drive to get there, end up getting a speeding ticket! Thumbs Down

First I've been on the bike this year.

Bad times. That is all.

Up in north Aberdeenshire, it's a plain silver Vauxhall insignia - didn't even have the extra antenna as a tell tale.

Since Grampian police have now become 'police Scotland' I was informed by the copper there will be no more telling off, they will be issuing tickets to all offenders as instructed.

What age?

My current theory for unmarked cars is:
- <5 years old
- Black/Silver

Additional information that I use:
- Anything strange visible through rear window
- Drivers have a badge on their shoulder/hi-viz
- Large screen in centre console

Then hang back unless absolutely sure.

Sucks you got caught though Thumbs Down

You're spot on, it was less than 5 years old, was a 10 plate.

Yeah was sh#t getting caught, but if I wasn't going too quick I would have been fine.

In Glasgow they used to use a dark blue focus on the M8. Last time I seen it yet it had all the markings on it tho.

Last one I saw was also dark blue. Mitsubushi Shogun this time.
Only found out about that one when I was filtering and the fucker lit up with the siren when I was just about to pass him. Scared the bejeebus out me.

In Preston and the surrounding area there is quite a few undercover Vauxhall corsas in purple. They are generally corsas and a few new style ford KA's typically in white.

I once thought like that but they seem to trump all over that theory in Liverpool, I've seen them use an old R reg Mondeo in that odd red colour they did, and just a couple of weeks ago Mr Yaigi saw an unmarked old battered small white van.

I did just find this Flickr group though which may be of interest to some, documented unmarked police cars around the UK:

In leeds they have a think for using blue/purple Astra's

I once got pulled by a massive silver BMW Estate and man did it move. Passed me on the opposite side of dual carriageway. Must have turned round a good mile up the road and caught up with me in a matter of seconds! Turns out one of my headlight was out... Was it balls, I had to explain to this idiot one was high beam and one was low.

Sliver and black definitely make up the majority of undercover cars. But that's not to say they are ALWAYS those colours though, I've seen a red audi A3 before!
