I don't really like it as the mods don't seem to mind what is posted, this has good and bad points, good as it can be widely informative, bad if you post something interesting in half an hour it will be on page 4 Laughing

Hi

Yep, got an account there and do spend a reasonable amount of time reading it.

All the best

Good call.
I get rather irritated by the people who throw out "oh but (forum X) is all the information I need, everywhere else sucks". All forums have good and bad points. BCF is good for general chatter and interaction, but as far as mechanical discussion goes then there is much better to be had (that's no disrespect to Keith or the one or two others that post here and have a sound mechanical knowledge).

To get back on topic, yes. I'm registered there, more of an occassional lurker than anything else though.

Yep, I'm a regular lurker/occasional poster.

And although it can be cliquey, at least it has a sense of humour.

Much as I like BCF, it's all a bit...well...how can I describe it without offending anyone?...a bit worthy and dull.

I use BCF for information, VD for entertainment. There, is that fair?...

You just get a better class of person in here. Wink

The variation in quality of language amazes me (well it's something that I notice anyway) as I go between fora. The forum I used for an American Army game was filled with yanks and the place was stuffed with appalling grammar and spelling mistakes.

Equally, having played muds for a few years, the quality of language and debate on their fora seems far higher than anywhere else. I think generally the quality and content of a bulletin board reflects the intelligence and maturity of the users of said board. Hence why perhaps this place seems a bit more mature and intelligent than VD. Laughing

Yes, I do know that there's a whole heap of snobbery mixed into that.

These are the most interesting motorcycling forums, I have found so far. I have a lot of respect for a handful of guys and gals here, who are very knowledgable and interesting to read. Thumbs Up Arse kissing out the way, I Admin https://x9ocf.co.uk for the official Piaggio X9 Owners & Riders club (X9 is a maxi-scooter in 125/250/500cc displacements) and https://scotscoots.co.uk which never really went anywhere... Outside of bike/scooter forums, I run a science fiction/fantasy/horror forum which is very much embryonic (see sig), and visit a couple of others ocasionally. I only mention the forum sites in case anyone wants a cursory glance, they'll be of little interest to most of you, not looking to 'steal' any members. Laughing

What people seem to forget, is that visordown is so big, each section is practically a forum in it's own right. I've racked up 1300 posts on visordown, but I don't go in general or anywhere... visordown has a supermoto forum which never used to be linked to the main site, but went under the same name and a different URL... there completely different people on it so when people say "visordown is crap they all twats" and so on it's not really a fair statement, the forum is too big to generalise and good/bad... most say the forum is crap but that's because they go in general ! Laughing

I post on far too many forums, but each forum is for something different, I post here because I like the people and rideouts, I post on other forums because I prefer the topics and what people talk about.. all are good in their own right Smile
