If you want to fill in the cobwebbing (like in picture 2), use some Autoglym Super Resin Polish. It'll give it that extra bit of shine.
On my Fiesta that has light cobwebbing (previous owner )I use:
Autoglym SRP
Poor Boys Black Hole
Poor Boys Natty Paste (red)
I find the combination works really well without going down the machine polishing route.

+1 for WD40 on the wheels. Use it all the time myself, and has so far kept my el cheapo wheels pinging shiny throughout winter Better than any 'bike cleaning' type product  |

Tell ya what else would help, clean them 'orrible looking red and white square things off.... Would look much nicer then. Be more aerodynamic too so might hit 85-90.  |
