This was in the day when de-restricting a little two smoke was a lot easier.
I/we (my mates) put an aftermarket spanny on it and found a rear sprocket that matched but had one less tooth.

So a free-er breathing exhaust that was a whole lot noisier and a different rear sprocket.
We managed a whole 40mph Laughing or just past 40 on the speedo on a good day with no wind against us.
The good thing was that we could do this every day and not just on dry sunny summer days.

Most of my mates could`nt get 40 out of thier FS1e`s or MT50`s or AR50`s

Haha and the restriction methods on the new bikes are getting rediculouse I mean like there are four that I knowmof :the jet in the carb is smaller than it should be, the exhausts have plates on them so the gases carnt get out, the cdi is used and that contains a rev limiter and the variator has a washer on it to stop the driving wheel from coming all the way out therefor not increasing the ratio enough, and most of the time 30 is very dangerouse in terms of max speed for example when cars are stuck behind you peeping their horns because you are stuch and I have allready learnt that the best thing to domis pull oven and look a pillock Thumbs Down

One of these:

https://cars-database.com/data_images/gallery/04/yamaha-fs1e/yamaha-fs1e-02.jpg

1976 Fizzy, with pedals. Was fairly mildly tweaked and used to do about 50-ish. Fantastic bike that I bitterly regret parting with.

I think it lasted about a month before I seized it.

Still got it.

My first 'ped was a step thru' Vespa single speed. Next up was a Honda SS 50 - an infinitely better bike in all ways and I remember being amazed at the extra power! (I was only 16 remember!).

I had an air cooled piaggio NRG, had a fair bit done to it. replaced rusting leo vince zx with gianelli chrome, malossi belt, 'racing' clutch.. still an utter bag of shite which did 40 on a good day.
Also had an 02 Gilera runner LC which I bought as a standard minter and did some modifications to it, all of which could be changed back to standard.. only to be sold and subsequently destroyed by next pedboi owner.

Puch Maxi

Had a candle bulb for a headlight that dimmed when slowing down, and it had pedals as well.

But it got me to work back then in 1981 Smile
