Hi there!

I was idly thinking about custom leathers the other day, and I had an idea for a fairly cool design.

What I was thinking was black leathers, with areas picked out in reflective Scotchlite material (similar to that on reflective vests except white).

I decided that from both a style and safety point of view a kind of warning motif might be fun. I decided upon reflective chevrons up each arm like the black and white sharp bend warning signs.

I also thought it would be good to have a warning triangle on the back... and I found a number of images with the aid of google.

I just thought I would put up a poll to see what you lot thought would look the best in reflective material.

Here are the choices:
Flammable:

Heavy Machinery:

Poison:

Radioactive:

High Voltage:
https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/5voltage.jpg
High Voltage Machinery: (apparently!)
https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/6voltages.jpg
And finally, the old faithful!
Warning:

Now, potentially this could end up on a set of leathers so please be nice. I am also open to suggestions, but I think the warning idea will probably stay in general.

Also, if any of those arty types would like to PSP/Photoshop something up, I wouldn't complain! Wink

Any other thoughts and suggestions are also welcome!

Vote away! Very Happy

I like "heavy machinery" myself, although the high-voltage with a skull on it is kinda cool....... Smile

I don't mind a mild cheese factor, but bear in mind that the rest of the leathers will be plain black. The warning triangle will probably only be 20-25cm wide, and between the shoulder blades.

There will also be a crowtree logo somewhere I guess...

Bear in mind if you are in an accident there is a chance that medical attention will be held up until they can get a specialist associated with the type of hazard you are representing. I know, sounds ridiculous but they are within their rights to do so, and have done in the past.
Biohazard is a particularly poor choice for this very reason Neutral

Nah. looks too fiddly to be made into Leathers.

I like the high voltage skull one, and that would be worth the effort. Biohazard is too simple a design to pay lots of money for complex stitching.

I'm liking the high voltage one so far... Smile

it doesn't have to be in a massive triangle... I just like the triangle. It isn't going to be massive either. As I said, 20-25cm wide at the base.

I'm not sure this counts unless the triangle is black on a yellow background... Maybe members of the local constabulary can comment on this? Smile

(either way the emergency services would have to be pretty dumb to do that...)

Another reason to avoid the biohazard symbol is that it may cause people to assume that you are post pubescent angry young man, who enjoys listening to crap metal bands. Rolling Eyes

Nice tatt flip!

i think the biohazzard one would be cool without the triangle in the same reflective piping around the outside and then stitching inside!

I would have thought something like this would be better suited to biking and would go with your chevron idea. Don't do skulls - really not cool unless it's a full Dave Aldana skeleton set!

Sorry I put one of the attachments on twice - doh!
