Was that wind noise or the sound of fuel being sucked from the tank.

It's all well and good having all that power and speed, but why? The tyres would probably peel themselves apart pretty quickly at top speed (unless they are using some new technology for them

Most likely:

1, to gloat.
2, a project that most car junkies/engineers etc... would love to do
3, it's awesome!

Elise done good!

Though, I'd prefer to stick that 1200hp LS9 in a Mosler, I reckon:

If they've done their home work, quite possibly better thanks to a good bit less weight.

Certainly something like the Mosler above will - the 2008 model still holds the lap record on some American magazine's yearly test, 4 seconds over a 458!

Ok, that weighs even less and was more designed for track work, but it does go to show how 'adding lightness' can work, too!

I dunno, it's still 'murican and the veyron was the complete package..

beyond that though driving a veyron at normal speeds is a nice experience, looking at that I'm not sure you'd be able to pop to the shops and back without any problems (or possibly with your hearing intact)

as said, the good thing about the veyron was it was there complete package, yes it was fast, but it had good handling and was comfortable as well; I'm not so sure this car has more than 1 of those traits... but I'm just guessing, i could be completely wrong.

Mosler above is American too and that's won a lot of prestigious international races in a form that's pretty close to what you buy.

But yes, you're not going to get nearly as luxurious as a Veyron in a modded Elise!

However, in the grand scheme of things, around a track a Veyron isn't that fast - it's fast for a 2t luxury car, however... but the much cheaper Aventador which isn't too far off is still faster.

A thing of beauty that! What a car.

I like the looks of it, doesn't look like an intergalactic space craft like the veyron does.

It depends on your idea of comfort I guess, it's a lotus interior which is comfortable but obviously doesn't have the gimmicks that many high end cars have nowadays. I'm happy with a comfy seat and a nice driving position, I don't need carpet thicker than I'd find in my living room...

Given it's a slightly longer, wider elise I expect the handling on a track would be rather good too.
