These are sick bastards. Not very nice to watch if you are of a gentle disposition.
Two guys stabbed, one fatally wounded. Totally unprovoked attack. Makes you think!

No real surprise. Its so common it is not unexpected.
If you remember back to 2009, UK is violent crime capital of Europe and worse than South Africa (Krad )
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/5712573/UK-is-violent-crime-capital-of-Europe.html
The fact that the British Crime survey doesn't allow you to be a victim of crime more than 5 times means crime is under-reported by about 50% so the UK is probably worse than Kinshasa or Brazzaville (again Krad ought to be able to fill you in on that). ____________________ "It's easy to attack and destroy an act of creation. I should add that my comments are in no way trying to diminish the point of the OP. This crime was horrendous and I'm amazed at the lenience shown. How on earth someone can maliciously take a life in such a callous manner and get away with probably 10 years served is beyond me... The accomplices got off lightly too, I would've expected them to get the same or very similar punishment. ____________________ current: ducati monster 750

Because by the time a typical scrote has committed a crime that results in a long custodial sentence, he'll have been through the revolving doors of the Criminals' Justice System dozens of times, and received a series of Cautions, ticking offs, unserved community service, suspended sentences and two week holidays, and will have been taught to view the police, CPS and courts with utter contempt? ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I posted this video on my facebook the other day, couldn't believe it, on first viewing I was expecting the three lads to get jumped by a gang or something because they are just casually walking along talking, then out of fucking nowhere they attack the two lads. Its just animalistic.
TarmacSurfer commented on it as such:
| Quote: | There are too many semi-feral retards drawing breath with no concern for any one or any thing beyond their own desires, whims or amusements for me to be surprised at this,it's precisely what happens when a retard tries - and fails - to get a grip on the concept of "respect". It's our twisted culture of venerating weapons that leads to things like this, the poor dumb fucktard probably had no intention of killing the kid, it was a blind stab with something that he was flashing to make himself seem "hard". I still favour a suitable punishment though. There are too many similar genetic failures for me to think it's worth attempting to rehabilitate this one. |
To an extent I agree, the first guy who actually died maybe he didn't mean to kill him, but the second kid.... you don't stab someone 5 times to make a point, that is going for the kill.
Does prison rehabilitate people? I don't think so, it just keeps them off the street for a while so more people don't get fucked up. A guy I know who's being doing a 10yr stretch for burying a hammer into someones head and leaving them brain damaged I heard was on day release the other day, he used the time constructively. Actually what he did was go to the house of some rival and kick off the doors and fuck them up, and when he is released proper has career prospects of becoming a toecutter. I know he was a heroin dealer inside and made a tidy profit doing so.
So yeah I don't think prison works very well in terms of rehabilitation.

Tougher sentences for violent offences against others could help in part, but only if the people are thinking about the sentences. Really crank up the sentences for the crimes against another person, remove all "good behaviour" time and then let it be known on every bus shelter poster. A lot of violent crime occurs in city centres by drunk people, this could be tackled by giving 6 month bans from all town centres and alcohol establishments for anti-social behaviour, failure to comply and you serve the 6 again on tag, failure again and 6 months in prison followed by 2 year ban.
Prisons definitely need to be reformed, hard labour doing coastal defences or the like would be a good idea. A prison building programme, done by prisoners, could also work well. With capacity doubled judges could double sentences.
Some consideration should also be given to licensing individuals to carry self-defence items such as CS spray, and licensing homeowners to have semi-automatic rimfire firearms (with hollow point bullets) and shotguns with buckshot for defending their homes. Those weapons specifically as it allows homeowners to deal with mutliple attackers, and minimises the chances of bullets going through walls and killing others in the home. Training should be given with the licences.

I'd start by:
Reducing unemployment
Reducing inequality
Decriminalise drug use
Getting rid of employer available criminal records for all but the most serious crimes
Easier said than done for the first two, but it's about tackling the roots of crime not treating the symptoms afterwards. |
Decriminalising drug use would increase the rate of violent crime as there would be more people out there whose IQ would be reduced to single digits for the best part of the day. Ok, you may be a nice guy when you're high on crack or meth, but others might not be.
The problem here is some people wanting to harm people for entertainment, the objective is to make it less entertaining, not to give them more benefits and some crack to give them a more entertaining time whilst doing it! |
