G'day!

For my current design course I'm looking at designing something for riders or for the bikes themselves.
I just wanted to get the opinion of riders and this seems like a good way to caste the net wide without stopping every biker in the street.

Im looking for information on what you find the most annoying or worry some aspect of riding a bike- for example rain is a bitch, or you lone CBR is sat outside in the cold when you would feel safer if it was elsewhere.
Of course there are obvious aspects but I'm looking for anyones pet hates however small because the likely hood of something bugging you means it probably effects someone else as well!

And in contrast what you most useful bit of kit is- the grips you cant do without ,all in one tool (you get the picture)

Anyone wants to throw in their:penny: Penny Coin i would be most appreciative of.
This is a part of my primary research for the project as a whole.

Please do not comment with your on going projects for a product. I do not wish for it to appear i am trying to get an idea for a product for nothing. Im just looking for information that will be a basis for my initial research which i can then further develop.

Thanks, Ben

Quite correct it is, its one of those weird things with the course. They dont want a pin holed line of enquiry but more broad. So it allows me to go in any direction i can rather than say sticking to aesthetics, mechanics.. hope that explains it a little.. Like with most things its jumping through hoops Rolling Eyes

Redesign a steady shot headlamp, for the benefit of the rider and other road users. Stop the jiggling. Oh and an automatic nodding system, with clever recognition you could set yourself on ignore, public, or private group nod.

Design something to detect unmarked police cars and speed camera vans before it's too late. Laughing

A way of preventing kids from asking internet forums to do their homework would be great.

Nah, Ben's all right for a Trustie.

What bugs me is trying to guess what the actual homework question is. Why not just post it verbatim?

Its not homework..its research. This is the final self directed project for my art foundation. Such gathering of information from human beings counts as primary research which is a requirement.
So as such there is no question to answer, only a brief which states ' i will design and make a product for the use on a motorbike or by motor-bikers' (paraphrased)

Any who thanks to those that have replied Smile

Stick up a more directed survey using surveymokey to have more precise answers that can be quantitatively analysed.

Pet hates about biking. The cold. I love riding in all seasons but I wish I had the flexibility, dexterity and duration on my FireBlade between october and march. I hate wearing anything other than race leathers or race jacket & kevlar at best.

Will you?

Why paraphrase? Some of us make a living by sieving through the cess pit of requirements to find the nuggets of actual value.

It's conceivable that we could help you to identify what you need to produce - which isn't necessarily the same as what you've been asked to do - and find the most efficient way to get the job done.
