Ok, winter's well and truly with us, and there's bugger all to do but potter around nervously on cold tyres while freezing your tits/ bollocks off.

It's about this time when, in order to cheer myself up, I start planning next summer, and promising myself interesting excursions for when the weather sorts itself out.

So.........Come next season, what 3 bike events have you promised yourself?

If I decide to take a year out before starting a career, I've a plan to go touring round the UK (Scotland mainly) for a week or few perhaps in August/ September.

Other than that I hadn't really thought of much, too much other stuff on my mind. Smile I suppose actually getting a full licence and a GPZ would be before that though.

Don't know that I can single out 3 excursions, but my main one will hopefully be a 4/5 day trip to the Assen TT in Holland. Thats the Dutch MotoGP if you didn't know it by its proper name.

I have a few plans lined up...

Firstly getting a new bike.

Hopefully passing my test before start of the 6 weeks holidays, so I can ride lots and lots and on the Motorway, if I really felt the need. Confused

I really am gonna try and get to Donington as well, Andy (NSR Kid) you still willing to let me catch a nap round yours? Laughing

Only 3? Not fair!

Well first there's the NABD rally in May cos two of my mates are getting married at it. This one also holds a special place in my heart as it's the first rally I ever went to (1996) and the first rally I went to on my own bike (last year).

Then there's the Farmyard Party, this was one of those "always-meaning-to-go" events that I finally got to last year, and it was just as good as everyone said it was.

The Speedfreaks Ball at Santa Pod is a good weekend out, watching people do silly things on the drag strip and cheering on Woody of BigCC racing, who is a mate of my other half. *Note to self - buy wellies if it's anything like this year....*

I wanted to go to the Badgers MCC rally again, as it was the highlight of this year for me (please nobody mention wine in screw-top bottles Embarassed ) but the Badgers MCC are no more so I am waiting to see if anything similar springs up in its place.

Another "always-wanted-to-go" is the Scottish Drag & Custom Show at Crail. We've been put off before by the fact that we'd have to go 2-up, or non-motorway on my little bike, and it's a hell of a long way! However, I now have a licence, and a decent bike, so maybe at last.

We will probably do one of the "big" festivals, either Rock & Blues or the Bulldog. I have never been to the Rock & Blues before! I tend to end up at the one that the Wildhearts are playing at... Wink which is usually the Bulldog.

Stormin The Castle is pretty definite too, just to get my annual hug from Cloud Singh on the gate as I go in!

Hoping to work a couple of GPs at Donington or Silverstone again, but that depends on whether my friend needs me to next year.

In between these rallies I will go camping in Anglesey on the bike at least twice (and possibly in the car too) and to as many parties/meets/small rallies as I can fit in.

Finally, we have also been talking for a while now about a week-long run over to Ireland on the bikes, so maybe that will finally happen too.

I am already saving up for tyres...... Laughing

2. Do plenty of track days.

3. Ride to the NEC.

I did the 3 events thing 'cos I tend not to include things already on my calender, only new ones, so that rules out, Into the valley, Speedfreaks ball, Celtics, Farmyard, Rock 'n Blues, Bulldog, Stormin', at least one of the WSB rounds (England or northers europe) and the Donni GP. BMF and NEC don't count, they're just shopping trips.

Kinda fancying Faro, Pequencourt, and Le Mans this year, and if the FEMA party is on in Koksidje this year I would like to go to that. Thumbs Up

Am definitely planning to do a trip to the Highlands next year, probably to Skye for a couple of days.

Trackdays go without saying... fancy some new circuits though, so Anglesey and maybe a trip over to France for one over there.

Option three... Thinking Have a couple of ideas but they're very cash-depending so they will remain ideas until sometime next year.
