Has anyone sprayed their bike with plastic dip.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvkq-qyY9aY&feature=player_embedded
I looks like fairly decent product. Does anyone know if any stores stock them, since i can't seem to find plastic dip in red online :L
Just can't wait to use these bad boys on my rims and if i don't like the affect i can just simply peel them off. ____________________ Theory: PASSED Module 1: PASSED Module 2: PASSED 12/2012!!!

I know a guy that used it to do his whole car. If you google mgtf plastidip, you should find his thread From what he reported back, it seems to be good stuff. Hth

Plastidip is really cool stuff.
I used it to paint my rear pegs black (but after a while I decided to don't have any pegs at all)

Against metal it is fine and it will remove without leaving any marks. But if you are spraying against some plastic surfaces (like fairings/helmet) it may take away the glossy finish when you remove it. |

Found a video which is bike related. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBQuGEYpYQg
I think its the same bike as paddy's and I would imagine he would get the sick affect if he made his rims red. ____________________ Theory: PASSED Module 1: PASSED Module 2: PASSED 12/2012!!!

Perhaps to protect paint, but maybe clear vinyl would work better. I have some on my forks, the tit that put it there, only put small patches, so I have some good paint surrounded by shitty rotting paint. A can of hammerite would last longer, be cheaper and easier to touch up
A roll of clear film** costs 45p (aldi when they do stationary, and I think asda, probably many other places). I have used it to temporary cover a whole in fairing last year. It also takes paint quite well. It has not yet started to unstick desipte high speeds and plenty of rain
** do not know if its vinyl or something else. |
