Ha, I realised it might get this response and that's cool, don't blame people for thinking its bollocks.

I don't exactly spam links to sites all day long on here, I genuinely thought it might be of interest to people as well as building some of my own network and helping a few others get cracking.

To me it just seems a bit, hard to explain.

Like how poundland shove in your face 'ONLY £1' and 50% EXTRA FREE! When in tesco's the same product is 90p.

Very clever advertising to appeal to the masses.

I think in reality earning money from it won't be a doddle, you'll have to plough time into it, but good luck to you, I'm out Thumbs Up

You get $20 if 5 of us sign up?

What exactly do you do when you sign up? just recommend more people join? what's the whole point? the video was just too far fetched and the whole process seems really drawn out, I don't think it will succeed.

Because if I'm doing it for the money, its just going to become hideous spam. Are you telling me about something cos you genuinely think it is ace, or cos you're getting paid? As soon as money comes into it, trust goes out the window. I don't hustle my friends for anything more than the odd 'Like' on facebook pages I've created.

And because my ripple would conflict with the ripples of all my friends, so we'd all end up with a pittance rather than being the top of the pyramid.

We're all going to have to endure a period of Rippln spam from people we barely know, and then it'll all fold in on itself, that's my prediction.

do you only get paid or what ever if someone clicks on what you have shared?

whats to stop me from setting up fake social network pages and sharing shit loads on them, surely it relays on someone clicking an ad or link for you to get the benefit?

For a start, the site doesn't launch until May, so I'm not earning anything at the moment from it, just building a Rippln network.

It's free to join, there's no charge. You sign up with my code, create an account and you can start building yours.

There's no need to spam, it's all contained on Rippln, so you don't need to start spamming links to all your affiliate shit on forms etc etc.

I genuinely think it's a cool product, like I said, I'm a web designer/dev and I like this project.

Another feature I'm really interested in, is when they introduce the eco system to allow you to sell your own products/services on there.

If I earn a bit of dollar along the way, cool beans. If not, no worries, I earn a very good living doing what I do, it's not all about the money, it's just a bonus for me.

That's what I was thinking, what IS the product?
From what you're saying it seems they plan to make an Ebay/Facebook, in which case they're doomed to fail (unless it's REALLY good).

Least you will know what it is now! When people who "we barely know" post stuff like this, they get slated because they're noobs. I think people know I don't post spam on here, (usually).

If it makes it to May 2015 without turning into a horror story, I'll give you a fiver. Thumbs Up

Ha, that's cool and maybe you can see why I like the project and the system at this early stage. I know people will have a stigma attached to MLM, it always will have.

I look at it like this.... it doesn't cost me anything, I don't really need to put that much time and effort in to this.

I have 40 odd people under me and all I've done is post it on my Facebook profile twice. If I started sending this out to some of my email lists with 20,000 here, 5,000 there and doing some promotion on it, I reckon this could be a winner with it being so new.

That's half my point - well-meaning individual posts interesting bike product on forum full of bikers, and gets their head bitten off cos "OMG SPAM!!!!"

The 'don't market at me' attitude, combined with the distinct whiff of MLM and people's basic selfishness and greed... I don't see many people growing their 'ripple' very far. Maybe among the shall we say 'less discerning' internet user (you know, the ones who are fans of 'sleeping' on Facebook, or repost this to raise awareness of kitten cancer), but they're never going to earn you anything cos they are essentially morons.

You have to target the non-cynical, non-moronic, who haven't already signed up... Maybe it'll work for a while for the early adopters (at the top of the pyramid), but it isn't sustainable.

I've been using my contacts and getting a mixture of people I know are not morons but mostly SEO guys, Marketeers, web devs and other software people.

I always think to myself, "The only people who ever make any money on them MLM schemes are the ones who get in at the begining".

I just feel personally (having never been involved in MLM by myself) , I'm digging this one and it's really early at the start for people to get involved.

Cool

Already get annoyed with my friends 'liking' products I'm not interested in in order to enter competitions. (Washing machine, really? And do I look like I need a horse saddle?)

The only links you would ever see though, are people inviting you to join their Ripples. Everything is then done on Rippln.

I think the ultimate goal of this is to build a social network with everything contained on it.

Watch a couple of the videos (bit of hardcore cheddar going on) and have a mooch. It's free and if you want an invite, just PM me. Razz

I'll pass the links to El Reg - I'm sure they'll be interested in running an item on it. It might not be the most complimentary piece of journalism though... Laughing

This certainly isn't the first 'get paid to spam social media' site - I can remember a few years ago there being one or two "facebook, but get paid for it sites".
Perhaps this one has better marketing/sales? Problem with pyramid schemes of course is that you'll eventually end with too small a base at the bottom to support the rest of the pyramid.

Watched a bit of the first video.
Horribly blatantly pyramid Puke.
Also, that warm male voice used in all the 'scam' stuff (ie vegan, eco, anti-capitalist style stuff)... can you download it or something? These days I am naturally incredibly suspicious of anything using it.

More info here.

I fucking hate spammers, I wipe them off our website all day and add them to a anti spam site. I can quite see you losing lots of friends over this sort of thing. I never share links unless it is relevant to what I am posting and would certainly not force crap on others. Not for me thanks. Thumbs Down
