Absolutely gutted. Second linkpipe from Motad and the hole for the lambda sensor is too bloody big!

First exhaust - no lambda hole. Fair enough. Called up Motad and measured it, friendly guy insisted that he knew the right size (I have no idea about these things... Although measured and gave an estimate).

So here's the question. How will my bike run if I just dont plug in the lambda sensor, and use the first link pipe?

Also, can I change the lambda sensor to fit the too big hole on the link pipe?

Rather gutted as I've been waiting for weeks to get this done and its costing me each time for a mechanic to do it for m (I have no time ATM) Sad

Pic attached of old exhaust (proper lambda hole size) and new one.

it'll probably end up running really rich as the sensor will be sniffing the air around the bike I would've thought. You should be able to get a threaded insert - I think they're called thread reducers or similar. No idea what the specs of the two threads will be though

It's going to sense the air without any fuel or combustion by-products that you'd get in the exhaust, so compensate by pushing a load more fuel through the injectors... I could be chatting bollocks Confused probably not brilliant for the engine.

You can get lambda sensor eliminator kits. About £15 on eBay so you could use either set of downpipes and just block off the hole on the second set.

sorry- have been working on feedback from dealers and have supplied just the one size of lambda sensor boss

looks like there may be two (or we have screwed up in fitting the wrong one)

you need the sensor or it will run like a chinese one

I am out of the office preparing for the Stafford show- assume you have been dealing with Ian H and Dan in Sales- give them a ring on 01922 714700 and we will get this sorted

SORRY!!!!

The arrow exhaust for my Street has the wrong size thread in the titanium link pipe, but it comes with a brass adaptor for the standard lambda sensor.

That is probably what is missing from your system. I suspect the link pipe is correct, it's just you're missing the brass adaptor.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Hmm, if it was correct, would the two holes be completely different size wise? https://imgsharer.eu/uploads/941/image_1366570448.jpg

I'll ask them about it when I call up today anyway.

we will sort it out either way

problem caused by the cats being introduced part way through the production run- the earlier bikes do not have cats and it is only the latest that do

will make double sure in future to ask riders to check if they have a catted or non catted

give the guys a ccall and we will sort it

It is probably an M18 external and M12 internal adaptor.
