 |

Seem to be having some issues with the gears on my new bike
Earlier I was going round a bend in second and it slipped into neutral, making me rag the engine for a sec till I cluncked into gear
Also noticed the gears are noticeably quite clunky from 1-2 and back and sometimes when in neutral if I try to shift up the gears sort of crunch like the cogs are mashing into each other and I have to sort of take pressure off the gear lever and shift in a different rev range, isn't cool
What do? So far i've just been shifting early to avoid neutral and get into third asap

Firstly, they are clunky 1st > 2nd and 2nd to 1st. Clutches are also noisy.
They require a solid smack into 2nd, none of this fairy foot shit.
Corner, use 3rd faggot. |

I always screw up gears with boots, trainers are never an issue though. So reckon its down to your/my feet being massive. Big penises too.
But no, they do rattle, ask J.M. .. his rattles like mine does, there is a fix apparently, but who cares, it works Done an oil change yet? |

Oh yeah, oil change
Will do, can tell it's gammy plus the previous owner only took it for short trips I think so it's got white shit in it.
Also getting few spots of oil, common issue, clean breathers etc
got £50 of the price as when the guy delivered it I spotted oil on top of the chain guard
Not sure about adjustment
But what about the gears sort of grinding and not engaging from neutral > 2nd?
Only did it once or twice, seems to be at a certain rev or something
PS: Looking for haynes manual, skint innit ____________________ Fzr-600 1999 |

Change from 1st to 2nd is horrible. Crunches but that's normal. You have to kick it up like you'd kick a cunt in the balls for sleeping with your girl. If you just tap it up, it'll slip out in to neutral if you nail it. If it slips in to neutral, drop the revs to get it back in to second. 8-9k rpm shifting to 2nd from neutral is horrible.
Rattle can be fixed by replacing the dowel behind the clutch from 5 to 5.5mm. I'll attempt mine once exams are over.
HG in Leicester seem to have gotten pretty clueless and don't even know what size crush washers you need for an oil change... so find out before you go. ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |

New issue - If I take my hands off the bars at 40mph the bars violently shake side to side
Seems okay at other speeds though seems to only be around 40mph
Will put it on the paddock later and spin the front wheel to make sure the disc is true... what else could it be, headrace bearings?
I have grabbed the wheel with my legs and tugged on the forks and moved them left to right, doesn't seem to be any play and it feels normal when I have my hands on the bars
Only noticed because I took my hands off to do my gloves up! ____________________ Fzr-600 1999 |
