My insurance is due for enewal on my ZZR600.. The renewal quote full comp is £144.15.
I thought I would get a couple of quotes to see how competitive this is. Its very competitive!
Wicked Quotes - £502.00
Carole Nash - £411.15

Why so bloody different! Guess I will be staying with my existing insurer.

Are all the details OK? Workmate got a great FC quote on his Bandit and was about to go for it, until the commission monkey made the mistake of saying "Did you really mean to put a value of £400 instead of £4000?"

Its with Hastings direct at the moment. I did less than a 1000 miles last year. Although I was seriously ill and had four operations. I am hoping to do a lot more this year! Although I rarely do more than 4000 miles a year.

Basically insurance company's have 3 bowls infront of them, labelled big quotes, medium quotes and small quotes depending on your age, experience and no claims they pluck a random number from one of those bowls, thus is how they come up with all our insurance premiums......or lat least it feels like it.

Anything described as 'sports'/'super sports' rapes me at minimum £1k , or returns no quotes at all.
Well, what can you expect at 18.

I have been getting quotes for a few bikes, I have found as soon as you go for one with fairings a lot just go through the roof Sad

But without fairings they are nice and low, got a quote for a ZR750, Third party £98, then tried Fully Comp and it dropped to £90 lol. But if I go for a ZXR6 starts at £168 third party and just keeps going strait up Sad

Funnily enough age 17, my first time riding a CBR, was my cheapest. Go figure.

Just ended my insurance with Hastings (took it out before I read the thread!) When I took it out, I knew it was just legal cover, God help me if I needed to use it. Actually found cancelling it quite easy too.

But here is where I agree that being a bit older can have it's bonus. Carole Nash, fully comp with home and away breakdown cover for two classic bikes (ZXR750 and TS250).....£107 Smile

That'll be why. Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. In fact I paid a little over my cheaper quotes to stay with H&R because their customer service has been excellent.

Dunno how you managed that lol. I've done quotes on like 98 cbr600f's and minimum is like just over a grand. Confused

Isn't it fairly normal to get a range of quotes?

Mine was £150 H&R all the way up to 600 with someone else.

I do however find that in particular with the car, the renew is alot more than other companies and it usually goes up. Bike . . . stays samish

I got car insurance for £630 with 0 NCB.
I swapped to a cheaper car and got £20 back after covering the admin fee. So clearly it was a cheaper car to insure. My renewal came through asking for £700 Shocked

Complete opposite with me. £350 fully comp on my busa with Carole Nash. I changed to a STR and they wanted over £500. MCE was £275. My Tiger Explorer with MCE is now £205. I could get it cheaper but my policy allows multi bike, which I want.

I was really pissed cause CN had been good up till then.
