I've sussed it.



I've had loads of old bikes and cleaning the down pipes has always been hard.
Tried polishing and sanding loads of them which bring them back to shine briefly.

Took off my manifold today off my GS which were hanging, dipped them in some acid for cleaning wheels / panels from the body shop and they came out shiny, with next to no effort. This was on chrome downpipes.

The shine is better because the surface is not scratched.
