Incredible. Tempting me to do motorbike camping instead of hiking/hitchhiking on my trip this summer!

Also, couldn't help but notice the town called "Soursac" Laughing

Yeah, good question the previous person posted what was it like traveling on your Sports Tourer with so much snow about did it make you wary about traveling onwards through that, and I assume in that climate you waited until daylight before traveling to avoid ice on the road? What make & type of tyres were you using at that time - do tell?

I am running Dunlop Roadsmart II on the FJR but the French are very good for keeping roads open in the winter, this road it the Pas de Payrol which runs up to a Volcano called Puy Mary I must ride it 50 0r 60 times a year in all weathers and is one of my favourite runs. (See my Signature)

On this day the road was closed and the snowplough had literally just done a run down the pass, it was parked a couple of K's behind us and all work had stopped for Lunch (so I took the chance and rode up) I had ridden it a couple of days previous and couldn't get quite as far before the snow drifts prevented further travel. their aim is to have the road open and fully repaired for the 1 May each year.

I will have to have a look at the sports tourer thread Wink
