hello, a quick introduction, I just bought my first bike last weekend, a Royal Enfield Bullet 350 standard. I'm Irish living in India, and with the state of the roads and road users over here i figure i'm going to need all the help i can get to stay alive , this looks like a good place to pick up some tips.
I'm madly in love with my Bull, running her in at the moment, which is just as well, 50km/h is plenty fast on the roads out here. I've gotten f*ck all done at work this week, i spend all day thinking about possible modifications for the bike, or trips for the weekend. I'm going to get a sprung single seat for her, and maybe a retro silencer. apart from that i want to keep as much of the original gear as possible. It's class, brand new bike, registration + tax for life, and 1 years insurance came to under 1000 quid stg. keepin her on the roads another thing, she's a thirsty lady. luckily petrol here is reasonably cheap.
Anyhow, just wanted to say hello, and check if there are any other Bullet owners/Indian bikers here. ____________________ SLIDE |

Greetings
Classic 500 Bullet owner here. 8 weeks and loving it. Loads of Enfield info can be had on the notice board at https://www.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/
Surprises me to hear you say it's thirsty - is that anything to do with the quality of the fuel out there? I've heard it quoted that tankers in India should show a "fairly flammable" warning sticker ____________________ Current: CB500 Previous: CB100N, CB250RS, XJ900F, GT550, GPZ750R/1000RX, AJS M16, R100RT, Enfield Bullet

cool, thanks for the link. I was considering a 500, but i figured as my first bike that'd be a bit unneccessary.
I'd say the fuel efficiency thing is just relative to other Indian manufactured bikes, mostly 100-150cc japanese bikes made assembled locally. That's the main consideration in buying a bike here, they get about 70-80km/ltr, compared to the Bullet's 30-40. It's all good though, you can't put a price on that single cylinder thump ____________________ SLIDE |
