You are completely wrong. Sorry. Thumbs Up

I assume you're referring to the ZZR1400 that'll get close if de restricted.

zzr1100 was the predecessor to the ZZR1400, and wasn't that quick. Only other one was the ZX12R, which wasn't as quick as the Hayabusa of the same era.

Would probably be a zzr of some sort, that and a completely misguided writer. The original 1100 was restricted to 130bhp which gave them a bit of a reputation.

I'm pretty sure they never did a 125cc ZZR so no.

Don't think any stock bikes crack the double ton do they?

A friend of a friend. A well known source of factual information. Wink

You've got to wonder why they bother building them so slow.

the ZZR1100's top speed is 300km/h, set in 1991 and the bike was quite modified Thumbs Up

The fastest road legal bike was ZX12R with 320+km/h, but we all know how generous japs are if they talk about performance and speed Smile

The only standard bike that ever went near 200 was the original full fat Hayabusa, I am almost certain.

Well, that'd have been quite impossible, because the Hayabusa came after the 299 km/h agreement. The ZX12R is the ''last'' unrestricted motorcycle, that came from Japan. I might be wrong though Smile

EDIT: The ZX12R was later also restricted but they managed to produce the bike unrestricted for 2yrs, I think. Thumbs Up

The 1999 hyabusa is the fastest production bike out of the factory. Top speed of something like 190mph (really cant be fucked to look it up)

It was 2000 model onwards that was restricted to 186mph along with every other bike.

EDIT: Turns out my curiosity got the better of me and I looked it up: Hayabusa wiki

1999 - 2000 model did 194mph
2001 onwards restricted.

no bike manufacturer wants to make a 200mph stock bike. They know it will hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Something like the 195 bhp Panigale could probable do it if you took the limiter off, adjusted the gearing, removed the mirrors, indicators, number plate, learned how to tuck in properly etc.

OP thinking of this????

Hayabusa Wiki page wrote:
With rumors and then pre-release announcements of much greater power in Kawasaki's Ninja ZX-12R in 2000, clearly attempting to unseat Suzuki and regain lucrative bragging rights, the speed war appeared to be escalating. There were growing fears of carnage and mayhem from motorcycles getting outrageously faster every year, and there was talk of regulating hyper sport motorcycles, or banning their import to Europe

The ZX12R can crack 200mph in pretty much stock form, I remember reading about it on BCF years ago when "Mr C" posted.

That's what he said there's a restricted one and the one just before it wasn't restricted, also Google brings claims of a zx12r hitting 200 mph. Surely someone on here has the used bike guide?? Obviously that's just what someone has wrote on a price of paper but still lol

A stock 12R doesn't crack 200. As said, the Hayabusa of the same year was faster. Even a stock Hayabusa will "only" hit 190s.

Well, I remember lots of magazines talked about 2000 ZX12R with it's top speed of 320 km/h. It's been 13yrs now and I still have it in my memory, like it was yesterday.

bikez.com, 2000 ZX12R:
Displacement: 1199.00 ccm (73.16 cubic inches)
Engine type: In-line four, four-stroke
Power: 185.00 HP (135.0 kW)) @ 10000 RPM
Torque: 134.00 Nm (13.7 kgf-m or 98.8 ft.lbs) @ 7500 RPM
Top speed: 320.0 km/h (198.8 mph)
Gearbox: 6-speed
Transmission type,
final drive: Chain

I think it does not matter if the bike can go faster than 299km/h, how often do you get over 120mph? Rolling Eyes

Y2K is a jet turbine powered production bike, has about 300hp so I'm guessing it does over 200mph stock.

One hell of a tail wind to get you from 190ish to 200. Razz

The ones Mr C et al are talking about still have race filters, airbox mods, full exhaust system and a powercommander.

They'll nudge 200mph on a good day from what I can gather.
