Hello, I'm really hoping someone can help diagnose a fault so here goes....

My K3 Marauder fell onto its left side last week while on its stand and ever since then it refuses to start with the electronic switch, yet starts fine if I bump start it.

The only damage done was to the left rear indicator which has since been repaired, I had hoped that it not starting was a safety feature and that, with the indicator fixed, it would start but it won't and so I'm hoping someone can give me an idea of a possible cause please.

I've tried checking contacts and wiring and can find nothing wrong and it only happened since it fell on its side. Could there be an obvious cause I'm missing?

Thanks in advance for any advice Smile

Thumbs Up

There isn't really anything else that's obvious other than started motor/motor relay/motor contact but that's all unlikely.

Thanks, I will check the side stand switch tomorrow and see if it is that. At the moment pressing ignition switch does nothing, not even a sound, so side stand cut off might explain it I hope.

I checked the Haynes manual but didn't notice anything about that so is a good idea to check now I know. Thanks.

It could also be the switch on the clutch lever since it fell on that side.

But these should be sorted if you start it in no gear.?

I've checked the side stand switch and the button is being pushed in when stand goes up, and the clutch one appears fine so I am unable to find an issue causing it. Think I may have to tear it down when I get a chance to fit new brake shoes and trace the wiring to see if there's a faulty wire I can't see normally.

I have to ask what may be a dumb question regarding the clutch lever safety switch, should there be a noticeable gap between the black contact and the clutch lever when lever is being pulled in?

The black switch does come out but doesn't have a noticeable gap when clutch is being pulled in so i wondered if it should have.

Thanks.
