There are only so many solicitors letters, police requests and irate others you can put up with before having to enforce rules on a forum to try to cut some of it down.
It's like trying to hold the tide back with a sandcastle.

Well, if there are certain people causing problems give them a warning then a ban ( not that makes much of a difference on here anyway ) not tar everyone with the same brush. It'll change BCF for the worse.

Arrow Polluting on-topic threads with NSFW / shock images
I've been annoyed when a decent thread suddenly becomes NSFW.
If the admins or the OP doesn't modify the first post then it can be unexpected and embarrassing. So a good call.

Arrow Using others' images without permission
Now in my post I like to link to images showing examples. Picture paints a 100s words and all that. So maybe that'll be harder.
If this is to stop avatars and photo manipulation then can't argue. Using to illustrate a point however needs clarification.

Arrow Behaving like the internet is truly anonymous
Well it's not anonymous so get used to it.

Arrow Behaving like an idiot for the sake of it
IMHO idiots, like the poor, will always be with us. So some tolerance is required. IMO would depend on context, language and severity or the idiotic behaviour.

...just my thoughts Thumbs Up

I don't really disagree with any of the points, they all make sense, and there is nothing more awkward then trying to explain why there is a picture of a cat giving a BJ to my peers.

Obviously when alone.... Twisted Evil...I care a hell of a lot less, so that's a shame. I'm new here so i still chuckle when people are photo-shopping a forum member and adding dicks ect....Obviously if they were of me, i wouldn't have this opinion.

Using random images you found on the internet / Google Images will be fine in 99.9% of cases, the copyright holders are highly unlikely to care or even know you've used them, and there is an element of fair use for illustrations...

It's only when it's done maliciously with somebody's personal pictures that it's ever likely to escalate into a problem.

All well and good, and I agree, but what's to stop everyone doing a WarpedOne and just creating a load of new accounts?

Also, can we be told who/what the police were interested in?

There are ways around Warped type scenarios. In the scheme of things he's not actually that bad... just a fantasist.

The mods all know when someone creates a new account after being banned, and could deal with it if they wanted to. In most cases I think it's just through a sense of resignation and also an attempt to give the benefit of the doubt that people don't get banned again.

As regards to the second point... you know he isn't going to answer on here.

Well, I'm not suprised. I always post on the assumption I can be easily tracked right to my doorstep. It's an unfortunate fact that we live in a world run by degenerate sub-human genetic sewage who believe they have a right to dictate our behaviour while being held to absolutely no standard themselves. And on the coat-tails of that reality ride the hordes of mindless aparatchiks looking to further their own interests, regardless of the moral standard of their behaviour.

BCF has been an oasis of liberty but it was only a matter of time before the vermin crawled up the shore.

I actually do. There is not a single thing I've seen or read on BCF I believe warrants a shred of police interest. Legitimate interest that is. In the real world, however, we know those amoral scum busy themselves with whatever amounts to easy pickings, regardless of moral legitimacy.

So, who's going to moderate all these new rules ?

It really is a shame, part of what makes BCF so good is the laid back attitute ( 99.9% of the time ) of the mods. It'll be a real shame if they need to start enforcing these rules and banning people just because some arse ( Jive Bunny etc. ) posts a pic of his girlfriend and someone posts a cock on it. Big deal ! It's things like that, that make this place "special" Razz

You've got the wrong end of my stick. What I mean is does anyone actually believe that Korn is going to be stupid enough to publicise details of police information requests when it could land him in hot water.

Why would it land him in hot water? Confused Yes, I'm sure they'd be miffed, and likely to instigate some kind of illegal retribution, but legally...

Has anyone else ever heard a pig squeal with terror and beg for mercy? I have.

They're not so big and hard when they're on their own.

If that was true we'd lose most of our police force.

In fairness, BCF is pretty heavily moderated in other ways compared to many forums. Tends to be self-policing to a greater or lesser extent and the karma-bot palys its role.

Where else will you find broadly coherent, vaguely grammatical and correctly spelled posts of a largely verbose and clearly composed and self-edited nature?

There is a refreshing lack of flashy banner signatures, uninteligeable txt spk, three letter replies and sextruple nested quotes.

It also pisses me off when people post NSFW images in a thread. The karma system could probably deal with this by attrition but there isn't really a negative karma rating that is particularly appropriate, possibly off topic? Maybe there should be a stronger rated Thumbs Down button which triggers that post to be hidden if more than a couple of people rate it as NSFW? Again, all admin time I suppose.

We already have neg ratings that are not even remotely matched in effect by pos ratings. BCF is designed, in the karma dept, to reward negativity.
