Got a phone call from the area manager of the company who just punted us. Apparently because I was just left to get on with my job and no one else was interested in what I did as long as their life was made easier, even though they have my computer and files, they dont know where to look to find stuff.

The fact that everything is titled doesnt come into it. Could I possible help them sort out where everything is?

All they had to so was let me take redundancy rather than punt me onto the other company who refuse to employ us. I even offered to sign a waiver that Id not sue them for unfair dismissal if they did that. Rolling Eyes

My P45 arrived today, and they gave my new company I start with on Monday a reference yesterday, they can fuck off now.

My old company threatened to withhold my pay after they made me redundant if I didn't give them the password to the laptop.

As satisfying as it would be to invite them to GTFO, I would note that them attempting to screw you over is just business, not personal.

It's a smallish economy, there aren't an infinite number of bridges to burn, never say never and all that.

Me, I'd do it on a consultancy basis, to the exact number of hours that they're prepared to pay for up front, and to the exact degree that it doesn't form a conflict of interest with my new contract.

Nothing personal, it's just business.
