I have a '99 ZZR600 with the standard Kawasaki alarm fitted, I even have the fob for it

Which I think are in my trouser pocket,

In my suitcase,

In the boot of my car,

Which my wife is currently driving an hour and a half away to her parents where I'm meant to be going tomorrow as a way of getting used to my new bike.

I have a spare key however, but no spare alarm remote.

The bike is outside with a cover on it, which, if I'm not very very careful taking it off, will cause the alarm to go off,

If I get the cover off without setting the alarm off, the little LED for the alarm is under the seat so that will set the alarm off before I can try using the emergency code (and hoping the one in the book is correct!)

my main question is this, when the alarm goes off, does it just do so for a minute or so or does it do it until I shut it up with a remote?

I want to be able to set the alarm off, attempt to shut it up with the emergency code while knowing that if I can't shut it up, walking away and leaving it will not be a problem.

Yes, I am a prize muppet and my wife is going to kill me if I don't go to her mum's for her mum's birthday - the fact that she's 5 months pregnant doesn't really help with her being sympathetic or forgiving at the moment.

Just put headphones in and ride it with the alarm blaring Laughing See how many times you get pulled by the police for it. Thumbs Up

Assuming they are similar to what they do these days, it will go off once apon something happening (pin switch movement/shock sensor/ign on), but assuming it goes back to the state it was in before going off, it should shut up.

That's how it should be anyway.

Sounds like a perfectly good excuse to avoid a meeting with the in laws to me.

I have a ZZR 600 with a laserline alarm.

It shuts itself up within about 30 seconds to a minute.

It should have an immobiliser too if it's the same as mine.

the alarm is being a pain now,

It had been fine for some time until I pressed the wrong button on the remote and it won't respond to being turned off until after the key is in and turned, alarm sounds and then it will deactivate.

after a while I press the wrong button again and it starts working properly,

that was a while ago, now it goes off at random which is annoying my neighbours but I don't know why it keeps going off.

anyone any ideas?
