Has anyone here participated in this series or know much about it..
Following on from my "prepping the sv for trackday" thread I want to find out as much as I can about this series for the possibility of maybe participating next year once ive got a real hang of these track days...
Will I need an ACU Licence? Is it really a affordable category of racing for beginners? |

I did a full season in minitwins a few years ago (ok, 6 years ago; bloody 'ell ).
Yes you need a full licence.
Cost does depend what you make of it, but I was easily going through one rear tyre a weekend and a front in a weekend and a half.
Set of pads every three races.
Regular oil changes.
A 500cc or the desmo due series would both be cheaper, though slower and not as much competition at the sharp end.
So - it's affordable if you've got a good chunk of disposable income.
£1k a weekend is easily achieved if you include food etc. |
