38 minutes in... look what the coppers are using as an unmarked bike. Cheeky!

Aye and from infront there's very little to give the game away, I'm weary of any biker with a white helmet coming up fast behind me.

Essex Police have a black S1000RR unmarked too.

I liked the tyre comments too, He was obviously looking for a fault on the first bike too.

I have no problem with the police being part of the biking community, and offering advice to bikers on the road about the condition of their bikes - as long as they don't take the piss and try to dish out penalties and fines left right and centre.
I met a couple of bike cops in a cafe at St Marys Loch on Monday and they were good to have a chat with, they gave us free neck tubes as well, which certainly helped as it was fucking freezing Smile

Both stops were pretty fair, to be honest. He could have been a lot worse to the guys but he seemed pretty decent. Didn't even mention the illegal plate! He can keep quiet about tyre condition though.

my missus tells me they have three unmarked bikes round york like that, she works for the police and knows the traffic cops really well as she used to process all the NIPs

the guy obviously doesn't look after his bike if he came off cadwell park and didn't even bother wiping his plate makes you wonder what else he didn't check in that week after the track day. he got off lightly i'd have still given him the £60 fine and a producer, his attitude wouldn't have done him any favours either

the other guy who pulled out even made me go "whaoo" was very silly but he had noticed the cop slowing down so was kind of experienced drivers judgement

I think he was pretty lenient tbh, just made the guy clean the plate and go on his way.

Yeah he was looking for faults on the bike, and so he probably should... don't want something dangerous on the road, but dunno what he was going on about with the tyres.

The 2nd guy who was stopped was pretty lucky not to get a ticket.

Got nothing against police bikers, so long as they're not trying to be sneaky. I think being bikers themselves, they should know what you can do on a bike, and what is and isn't safe. Doing 120 down a straight bit of road with no traffic for example, they ought to know that's safe. Overtaking cars round blind corners on the other hand isn't safe.

I think they'd do better to use their judgement rather than follow the letter of the law... probably get more appreciation from other bikers and a lot less hostility that way.
