Hi all

Last 3 fill ups my reserve has been coming on around 100-105 miles. I usually don't have to switch to reserve till at least 125-130 miles.

I haven't done anything recent which I could put my finger on.

I'm thinking either air filter or carbs blocked up?

Any ideas?

Cheers Karma

(This is on my CBR 600)

^^^ this.

The zed returns anything from 28mpg to 45mpg depending upon my riding.

Otherwise it could be any number of things, here's the most obvious -
brakes binding
air filter (although I read a long article recently that indicated very little increase in consumption from a constricted filter)
carbs mucky/ out of balance
tyre pressures
fuel leak

Thanks for the replies.

RE the weather, it's when I'm commuting, speed/high revving doesn't usually change much so didn't put it on that.

Brakes seem to be ok but I'll check at weekend.

Possible air filter - will check.

Would be interested in looking at the carbs, haven't touched them in 6 years/30k miles of ownership.

Choke is fine.

Tyre pressures are usually ok but I'll check them again.

Plugs were changed to iridium 5k miles ago so don't think it will be them, would have noticed something earlier?
