You could use one of these: https://www.naradi-naradi.cz/fotocache/bigadd/kn-cobra2.jpg
I've never had a problem with standart Hiflo filter ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

Always used K and N's myself, as others mentioned the nut on the end is very useful for remove and fitting |

Always use Hi-flo brand or champion what ever is cheapest.
I remove my canister type oil filters but hammering a long screw driver straight across the end and then use the leverage to unscrew it. Fitting wipe oil around the o'ring and screw on as tight as possible by hand (no tools). ____________________ Past:NRG50,AF1125(x2),NSR125RR,ZZR250,CX500,VFR400,KR1S,ZZR600(x2),CB400N,YZF1000(x2),KH125,Z200,FX400R,CBR954RR(x2)GPZ500S,GT550,VFR750F(x2),RD350N,XR650R,CBR600F,CB250,KDX250,YZF750R,CRM250,400EXC,KLR650,TTR600RE,DR350S,R100GSPD,RGV250,VMAX1200,DL650,KZ750 Present:G650XC,C12,CRF450X,1190ADV |

Basically whatever 10W40 motorcycle oil
All those race tech oils, SBK oils, ''I wanna be like Rossi'' Oils and so on are just a waste of money. |
My VFR, bought second-hand a month ago or so, had a service as part of the sales agreement, including oil and filter change. But I did an oil change myself anyway last weekend, with fully synthetic. The engine now feels completely different at higher revs, especially in 1st gear. It used to be unpleasantly vibey, now it's very smooth. Crossed a chunk of London in it the other day solely in first gear, occasionally with the front lifting as the VTEC kicked in, whereas that would have been very unpleasant on the previous oil.
Of course, the dealer could have been lying to me about the oil change. The oil filter wasn't dirty enough to make me think it hadn't been changed though. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

When I change oil filter or help my mate to change his, the filter always comes out clean.
I do agree, that some oils can handle more miles, but that's the only difference. If you do about 3500miles per year and you've got fresh oil in it for every season, then it really does not matter. I used 10W40 and right after that 20W50 in my former GPz and yes, the bike ran smoother with 20W50, had no leaks and so on, but it was a bit of challenge to start it in cold weather, but the brand or price does not matter here, really. I've read tons of articles about oils and 99% of them said: use cheaper oil and change it+filter more frequently which does make sense. Were not in the 70's nor 80's where the oil was just something greasy that people used to lube the engine ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ
