So, I had my first spill on the bike this week, was incredibly lucky as I was able to walk away with only a bit of roadrash and some battered pride.
The bike has been reasonably lucky too and now comes the process of starting to rebuild her(I have the technology)...I also have some questions that I have been searching for answers for online all morning to no avail.
The items I need to replace are the handlebars, the right hand fairing panel, the right hand indicator and the front fender.
The bars are not an issue, I wanted to upgrade to renthals anyway. The front fender is causing some confusion, i've found a few MK1 fenders in the same colour for a reasonable price(local suzuki place wanted a few hundred), but they seem to be a bit different from the Mk2 fender that's been destroyed....my question is this, can they be retrofitted? Any help in this could potentially save me $$$$.
Other than that i'm completely coming up short in finding a suitable fairing panel. It currently looks like a bag of shit but I could live with it till something comes up, but I kinda wanted to convert the bike to naked anyway and this may be the perfect time to do it....(especially when faced with a 250 quid quote from suzuki for the fairing panel.) My question is this..... Realistically what is required to complete this conversion. I know I'll need to purchase headlights, indicators and clamps to attach them to the forks. I'll also need something to mount the clocks....is there anything available off the shelf that could facilitate this? If not what are my options?
And finally, can anyone recommend good headlights? I see loads for sale reasonably cheap but as I ride at night quite frequently i'd rather have decent lighting.
Thanks a lot in advance for any help you guys can provide here. I'm pretty desperate to get it fixed and back out on it.
Matt. |

Keep your eye on ebay for 2nd hand parts, fix what needs doing to get it road worthy and worry about the cosmetics later.
Buying new parts will be a rip off anyway. Sorry don't have the answer regarding mudguard.
And good for you for walking away from the crash ____________________ Honda H100S2 Rebuild - https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=253852
