It's been dry today and relatively warm for the time of year, so I took the bike out for a couple of hours this afternoon - just to keep it ticking over you understand!

As I was leaving, the other half said "No thrashing it on the motorway!" So of course I didn't go on the motorway. Angelic

But I did discover that even my little 250 has a fair bit of poke in second gear when racing chavs in kitted-up Fiestas off the traffic-light line on the East Lancs..... Twisted Evil

As you know, I am normally a sensible "old lady" kind of rider, so I was a bit surprised how much I enjoyed doing that - especially as I won by quite a long stretch! Laughing

Does this mean that I will be trading in my nice comfy Eliminator for a daft sports 2-stroke any time now do you think? Or does it just prove that even cruisers can be fun 'cos it's still a bike...... Question

It's still a bike and if you play the gearings right it can only mean fun!

Of course if you had a pokey 2 stroke you would be in heaven, your adrenaline levels would be so high. Laughing

Do it, you know it makes sense. Twisted Evil You have someone else to fix it for you when it goes bang Wink Many sports 250s are pretty diminuative too so you should be able to touch the ground.

When you upgrade (notice *when not *if) you'll start having fun with more shiny cars. Today, I realised a very smart looking poser was racing my in his MGF... I only realised when for the third time in a row he pulled up alongside me in the outside lane and started revving quite noticeably (I'd been happy bimbling along trying to keep warm).

So I toyed with him. Let him think he was beating me, but staying level. Then watch his face as he realises there's a) a speed camera I've just braked for or b) there's someone sitting waiting to turn right Laughing

I had wonderful fun.
He gave up when we got to the motorway after trying to undertake me once. Twisted Evil

Thing is tho, Top end, He would of probably stood quite a good chance of keeping up. Wink
I can even have fun on my scooter beating novas and fiestas off the lights. Only to about 25 - 30 mph tho, when the power in the shitty cars finally kicks in, they can leave me Mad ...

But when I get my mini mafayre 850 with a cooper 1300 lump in it Wink Then no mofo will stand a chance Twisted Evil ...

How about having a nice comfy Eliminator, but with a 600cc engine?

or a 500?

You can have fun on any bike Wink

One day you will come across ponce's in Porches who try to accelerate away.
You will drop a gear, pull out from behind them and wave as you roar off into the distance.
