My CG failed its mot due to pitted fork legs, tester told me to come back with gaitors fitted an he will pass it

so i have bought some Ariete 7907's which are supposedly for my bike

they look like the right size, anyways do i need to put something on the bottom of them to secure them to fork leg (im thinking jubilee clip)? or are they suppose to be tight enough themselves that nothign else is needed?

cheers all

Covering your forks with anything so the examiner can't see them will do.

For my MOT before last, one fork was pitted and seeping, so i just wrapped both in some bin liner and hey presto!

The gaiters i got for my new forks came with jubilee clips and cable ties to hold them on, but i only the jubilees on for the bottom part

My Ariete gaiters were a tight fit on fork legs and when mudguard was back on I could not get zip ties on so I just put them on the upper part of the leg.

Used cable ties on mine top and bottom to make sure, all has been well for nearly a year.

For the MOT, they are not allowed to remove or check under the gaiters in any way, hence why covering the fork legs up will result in a pass, even if underneath the gaiters the forks are in bad condition and leaking oil. Obviously best sort them out at some point if they are in bad condition though.
