Hi,

I have a 1999 CB500 and i need to replace/fix the front brake master cylinder. Does anyone know where i might be able to get one from? I have seen fixing kits on ebay but they all seem to be pre 1996 and I cant find any second hand master cylinders anywhere only for the older models.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

You can get it at full retail price from Wemoto

https://www.wemoto.com/bikes/honda/cb_500_w_x/98-99/

CMNSL

https://www.cmsnl.com/search.php?model_id=1604&partblk_block=F__0401

OEM Motorparts

https://www.oemmotorparts.com/oem5.asp?M=Honda&T=CB500&Y=1999&L=HO-CB500X&O=FR.%20BRAKE%20MASTER%20CYLINDER%20%281%29&F=HO-CB500Y-RP&L2=HO-CB500T-RP

BUT hopefully you can hold off and it will eventually appear on Ebay where it would be cheaper in the end!

Laser now do a specific set of snap ring pliers for motorcycle master cylinders. Search for Laser 4739 on Ebay to find them, makes the job a lot easier.

Cheapest set I could find.

The CB500 ones aren't too bad to get in and out, I managed to ping it out with a screwdriver but they are usually a bastard of a job. Worth investing in a £15 tool. Thumbs Up
