Hi
Thinking of planning a couple of ride out routes,
Got some pretty good roads in my area and just wondering
what sort of distance to plan for?
Any suggestions much appreciated.

Cheers goblin

Whereabouts do you live? I like to to ride to a destination where you can stop get some food, drink (or whatever) and then ride back. Distance depends on the time you have, bike and your immunity to pain (speaking as a sports bike rider!)

Depends on a lot of things.
But basically the distance you will all enjoy riding for Smile.

Ok, add in daylight and other stuff, but basically whatever's going to be enjoyable, presuming that's the reason for it in the first place Smile.

Depends on the weather quite a bit! 150 - 200 miles is nothing for an afternoon in summer however in winter you'd need defrosting after that Smile

Distance isnt really the issue. Speed limits and road types mean time is probably the best way to plan. I can't say anybody enjoy's being on a bike for over 2 hours (Less for some Wink) so just plan out a route that will take an hour or so to complete.

Remember your RGV? Remember feeling like you were sat on cast iron with your knees up by your ears, having to refill the tank every 70 miles?

2 hours riding, or 3 fuel stops is more than enough Wink Laughing

Quite impressive an average of 105mph, I'm assuming on an RGV you'd be going on A/B roads too Wink

/me remembers the days of a litre of TTS every rideout Laughing

Wow! A hundred whole miles! Bloody soft Midlanders, I do that just gonna see my parents.
I don't mind a few hundred if we're aiming for somewhere, like Skeggy etc.
Me and a mate did manage 250 miles just riding round Worksop while I was trying to get used to the Gixxer.

Shocked

Wankers! Middle Finger

I was just pointing out you can do quite a lot of miles in a rideout because he was saying he'd noticed some local area's to ride around, I was merely pointing out that to be hardcore you have to travel a distance.

The point is 100 miles isn't exactly 'hardcore'. Some people commute more than that Laughing
