Is anybody else finding YouTube really slow recently?

I'm with Virgin and get a stable 30mb, Netflix plays in HD no problem. Vimeo loads super fast in Hd, downloads are awesome.

On my IPad or through the Xbox it's constantly buffering. Sometimes it'll play it straight through though in full HD.

It's annoying, where else can I watch other people enjoying bikes whilst mine is being fixed!!

I've noticed this recently. I'm hoping its not a recurrence of the issue a few months back when they introduced a proxy systems that didn't have enough capacity to cope. Admittedly that was worse than it is now, but its still not good, and going on past experience, it will take them a fucking age to resolve whatever the problem is this time round.

Yeah, it's a shame. I have tried other sites and they are fine.

I thought about the possibility that Virgin were specifically shaping the YouTube traffic. It's possible, and since they would deny it, impossible to prove.

I recently went from a 3mb connection to a 30Mb, and its slower lol

My mate has noticed the exact same, youtube is a bastard. Online gaming is pretty shoddy too.

I found this and tried using Youtube on IE rather than Firefox. Made a massive difference.

I can actually watch Youtube clips in IE, but use Firefox for everything else.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

YT has it's ups and downs, can be fine one week, slow the next, suspect its due to the insane amount of traffic they get, and all the cat videos they have.

The main issue I have with it at the minute is it'll play a bit of the video then just end and I have to refresh the page Confused I think that might be due to all the Adblock stuff I have installed, better than having to watch adverts still Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
