... my new bike! Thumbs Up Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Dad is insured on all bikes and so has ridden my XVS to the dealership for chopping in against the CBR600! Cause i dont want to ride around an annoyingly packed town on my first ride etc!

So i am sitting at the PC lookin out the window, full leather clad waiting for him to be back with my new pride an joy! Nervous as hell moving up from a 125 cruiser to a 600 sports, but i am sure if i take it steady and carefully i can get used to it in time. Plus 33bhp restriction gives me a little more confidence!

Anyone else get this nervous before a new bike?! Confused

Mixture of nerves an.... wanting to scream 'AH YEAH!'

Remember when I got my CBR600. Had sold my CG125 about 6 weeks before so hadn't been on a bike for some time.
Just took it real easy. Only used the first 4000 revs for a week or so. Doesn't take long for it to feel like home though....

I know exactly how you feel. My CBR600 came on a wednesday night, it was bucketing down. Looked at it up and down in the garage for half an hour thinking it over. Then my dad came in and i fired her up. He just looked at the rain and then at me in a sort of ' Confused ' kind of way. So I put on the leathers and went for it, bricking myself all the way, first stop was the petrol station and i was petrified of putting it on the stand cos it weighed a little more than my RS125! So took it gently to a large piece of road, stopped at the lights, eased off in first, missed out second then blasted it in third. as the rear spun across the road I made a mental note to be more gentle and get a better back tyre.

By the time I got home we'd made friends and I was in love! Took it to work the next day and never looked back!

So.... get her home, get geared up and go wring its neck for all its worth. Its a very forgiving bike and it'll let you know if your going too far. Most importantly though enjoy it!!!!! Cool

Thumbs Up Wink

Well i been out since ten minutes after the thread. Laughing

First three seconds in the driveway went like this -
Confused (nervous)
Shocked (blown away)
Laughing (lovin it)

Had an amazing time, not got much to compare it to but so responsive on the throttle and brakes, extreme acceleration and generally ass kickin bike!

First hour on my own going around local roads then followed my dad on his VFR 800 around some of the better biking roads in Bucks. Great fun.

And then rest of the time going from friends house to friends house simply for a destintion to go to! lol.

Far as i know i've been careful etc.. but had the odd chance to test it (and my nerves!) out a bit... but wont be tellin the parents that one!

Pics to follow soon (Although aint much different to my avatar)

Glad you like it, just be careful when you inevitably want to try out how fast you can accelerate to 120mph. I picked a nice stretch of dual carriage way with no junctions. Very Happy Thumbs Up
