 |
|
Hi All
I was out for a ride about a fortnight ago when my lutch lever decided to fall off
After some carelessly chosen expletives and a scary moment where I almost dropped the bike as it bounced about while it stalled, I headed back up the road to locate the lever and any other bits that may have fallen out. Luckily, I found the lever, adjuster and even the tiny pin which compresses the clutch fluid when the lever is pulled.
I couldn't however, find the pivot bolt which holds the lever assembly in place. I managed to find a suitable bolt by knocking on someone's door though and getting handed a box full of assorted nuts and bolts!!!
Bit of a bodge but it works fine. There's a lot of 'vertical play'. What I'm concerned about is that there should be a small piece of metal in the lever housing - something which looks a bit like a cube with rounded edges with a hole through the middle (which the pivot bolt screws into). This piece of metal seems crucial for the stability of the clutch lever as well as adjustment. I can't really explain it further as I'm unsure what it actually looks like! So any help on this on would be great (what's it called? and where can I get one?!).
My MOT is also due in a few weeks and I'm wondering if this could be a point of failure? ____________________ '10 Skyjet SJ125-23 - Crashed > '09 YBR 125 > '53 Suzuki SV650 - Died > 2010 Suzuki VanVan 125 > '87 Yamaha FZ750 Sold > VTR 1000 FireStorm - Sold > Honda CB1000R |

Yep, that's part number: 22885-MB0-006
And in this case the bushing is a type of plain bearing, its made from brass, so is low friction and will help ease wear on the pivot. ____________________ Current Bikes:Honda 929RR Fireblade, Honda CD200 Benly (Project), Stomp Z2 140
