I think a lot of bikers would love to buy such a motorcycling/tour guide to get you around the known best areas to ride a bike in UK & Europe, sightseeing & eating/sleeping? Others may like to tour by themselves to come across things that a tour guide fails to pick up on?

Take a leaf out of the American website run by bikers for bikers for producing good detailed maps, and hopefully someone will do the same in creating maps rather just being a guide on the tour itself.

Ok, after doing a bit of checking around I have found several websites covering many areas in regards to maps & touring which are pretty good and some have proper paper maps available which seem to be good, but only some are waterproof just like what Butlermaps it seems?

The above link takes you to "the old gits" website, don't be misguided by the name. I went on my first trip with them in 2011 (see my write up in trip history) and am about to leave on the third in as many years.

There's loads of useful info on the site. The organiser is known on pistonheads as black-k1 alternatively you can contact him through the site. He organises a trip every year (not charging a bean for all his time and effort), and most things (destination etc) are up for vote about six months before the off - majority rules.

If you are going to any of the places the OG's have visited there may be some ride out route satnav files available - let me know (but no promises).

Alternatively come away on one of the trips. Email contact through the site link above to register your interest.

Thumbs Up

Hey!

I've done a lot of touring around the UK and as well as my old trusty map I've also found this website useful recently:

https://www.ktmplaces.co.uk/

It lets me scope out routes before going on them.

Hope this helps! Smile
